Also had this issue on a GTX 970. Installing the old drivers via https://github.com/Benjamin-Dobell/nvidia-update has made it usable again, at least. Thanks for the thread!
I got my parents 9800GT build to work by using "GraphicsEnabler=Yes, IGPEnabler=No" at boot. Just GraphicsEnabler=Yes was not enough to do the trick for me. Hope this helps someone else in the same situation.

I don't really have any peripherals. For high speed transfers, I just use gigabit ethernet. This is how i back up my MacBook to the 1GB drive on my hack.
The solution to this problem for me was to update from the old version of Chameleon I was using to the latest Chimera from MultiBeast. Airport is working great now, no more beachballs.
Airport seems to be having issues for me. I'm getting beachballing on the menuextras and Network preferences. Bootup is also slower than usual.
It works fine when booted from iBoot. Also, when I unplug the PCI adapter for the airport card, everything works fast and normally with no beachballing.
