GA-Z68XP-UD5 / Sleep doesn't work and shutdown reboots the machine

Quite interesting. It seems that the HD3000 or the Mac Mini identification prevented shutting down correctly. I installed an 8500GT I had lying around and now it shuts down correctly. I wonder why.

Test Gigabyte Z68XP UD5 UFEI BIOS

Does your system shut down properly? Mine just reboots itself. Does that when trying to sleep, too. For the life of me, I can't figure this out. Just now it halts the system, shut the display, but the power light was left on, so it didn't completely shut itself. What are your BIOS settings (the...

Test Gigabyte Z68XP UD5 UFEI BIOS

It's just that mine just started doing that on every time the computer starts. Quite annoying.

Test Gigabyte Z68XP UD5 UFEI BIOS

Weird. After a while, the UEFI BIOS started to exhibit a behaviour, where it bootlooped itself while trying to start the computer. Power on, few seconds, power off, repeat and rinse. And then, after a while, it started fine. I wonder what this could be.

Gigabyte UEFI BIOS + StarTech Firewire PCIe card - Sleep / Wake / Shutdown / Restart Issues thread

If it's of any use, my GA-Z68XP-UD5 does this too, with the built-in (TI) Firewire. Confirmed with F6 BIOS and the beta U1h UEFI BIOS. With this beta UEFI BIOS it seems I can't even disable the Firewire to confirm, but in any case, I need my FW audio interface.

GA-Z68XP-UD5 / Sleep doesn't work and shutdown reboots the machine

My board had the F6 version BIOS, and I had the corresponding DSDT installed. Did not work. In hope for remedy, I installed a beta UEFI BIOS – version U1a, not "officially" available. I found it through TweakTown, I think. I think that one should have no need for DSDT if UEFI BIOS is used, with...

GA-Z68XP-UD5 / Sleep doesn't work and shutdown reboots the machine

I tried the beta UEFI bios for this board, but sleep isn't working any better now. Well, no DSDT needed now, then. Also, for some reason, my boot time went down, which is of course nice.

GA-Z68XP-UD5 / Sleep doesn't work and shutdown reboots the machine

Ahh, sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I used UserDSDT mode and used the very same DSDT from the database.

GA-Z68XP-UD5 / Sleep doesn't work and shutdown reboots the machine

Hi, As described, I have an i5-2500k with HD3000 enabled and GA-Z68XP-UD5 (F6), and for some reason, sleep doesn't work (it probably gets into sleep mode and the immediately reboots itself) and also, most of the time when I shut down the system, it gives the proper messages (I have verbose...

Test Gigabyte Z68XP UD5 UFEI BIOS

Does this mean no DSDT is needed when using this UEFI BIOS? Which kexts did you install (or remove) after putting this UEFI BIOS in? Does it work stable? I have sleep problems with my Z68XP-UD5, and would want try if this UEFI BIOS helped.

How to install older Lion (10.7.5 doesn't work, Mountain Lion has show stoppers)?

As far as I could tell, the MultiBeast Nvidia drivers don't have anything to do with GTS 450. Correct me if I'm wrong :) I did manage to get Mac OS started with the GTS 450, but it would randomly just freeze, with nothing else to do but reboot.

How to install older Lion (10.7.5 doesn't work, Mountain Lion has show stoppers)?

No, and the one I can download from App Store is the newest. But fortunately, I managed to get my Mountain Lion working. (Without USB3 drivers and my GTS 450 ...)

    MultiBeast screws MIDI functionality?

I removed/didn't install the USB 3 drivers, as the MIDI functionality is more important to me currently. A fix would be very much welcomed :)

    GA-Z68XP-UD5 / GTS450 — UserDSDT fail/EasyBeast works. GTS 450 doesn't?

Well, the user-DSDT worked after this deleting OemSMBIOS.kext from inside FakeSMC.kext package. Apparently, this was readily documented but I missed it :) Now to see if I can manage to get the GTS 450 working. Also, the USB 3 drivers from MultiBeast seemed to stop CoreMIDI server from working...

    MultiBeast screws MIDI functionality?

MultiBeast screws MIDI functionality? (Actually, USB 3 drivers.) And we have a culprit! It's the USB 3.0 drivers that does it.

    MultiBeast screws MIDI functionality?

Hi, I discovered that Mountain Lion MultiBeast somehow screws the CoreMIDI server functionality. I tried installing a clean Mountain Lion, then booted in safe mode (I can't get in without) and tried opening Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup. Opening the MIDI window, it showed the...

How to install older Lion (10.7.5 doesn't work, Mountain Lion has show stoppers)?

Exactly that. Somehow I would rather not buy it anymore since I have bought Lion already. But the weird thing is, I tried to install Mountain Lion from the beginning (the MIDI Server doesn't work even when there are no MIDI drivers but Apple's own, which don't load – but in my MacBook Pro /w...

How to install older Lion (10.7.5 doesn't work, Mountain Lion has show stoppers)?

Hi, I updated to 10.7.5, which I couldn't get booted. I then proceeded to buy the Mountain Lion on my laptop, on which I created the bootable USB stick and installed it. It works – except for my GTS 450 (well, my integrated HD 3000 works now) and the deal breaker, Logic not working anymore...

    GA-Z68XP-UD5 / GTS450 — UserDSDT fail/EasyBeast works. GTS 450 doesn't?

So, I think I squeezed my problems to the subject title. I have a Z68XP-UD5 and GTS 450, which worked in Lion. I upgraded to ML, and I couldn't get the thing booted. The custom DSDT for this mobo didn't seem to work, but EasyBeast method did. Am I missing some functionality because of this...
