I honestly hate it. Some icons and deign language is nice, they nailed the dark grays of dark mode, but overall the flatter looks is boring, lack of depth makes it feel shallow.
macOS 11 made things worse. The square icons are less interesting than the mix of round and any of the variety of...
As much as I'd love to see USB 3.0 support for PPC, there are no drivers available, and there will almost certainly never be support. Furthermore, currently USB 3.0 only works with 10.7+. You would need someone who could write the driver (kext) for PPC 10.5, but I don't see that ever happening...
We use Thunderbolt a lot in the Mac IT world and love it. I hope it really picks up in the consumer world soon. The real power is in it's flexibility and throughput. It can be a display, it can be ethernet, and its the best way to transfer a 16TB RAID! They just need to get the cost down!
Could one use the use the mini-PCI Express slot of the Mini-ITX board for an SSD, or are the pins now power compatible? I recently obtained a G4 iMac that I'd love to hackintosh!
Article: OS X 10.8.5 Update
I did the same thing when 10.8.2 came out lol. It messed my install up though, so I had to book to another partition and reinstall MultiBeast. I guess I'll see with this update!
Has anyone seen an ETA for a Haswell ATX board with Thunderbolt? I'm holding out upgrading my 1156 ASUS until then.
PS when I read "Windows" and "Classic" my gut reaction is to hate Windows and love Classic, then I remember we're talking about UEFI and not Microsoft and Apple lol.
Thanks for putting this together. One note, Leopard and Snow Leopard had the same video but different wallpapers.
I think Panther's wallpaper was my favorite, it was friendly (smooth and curvy) and harmonious (well balanced).
Lion's wallpaper is my 2nd favorite (and Lion was the only Mac...
I was getting a weird issue with 10.8.3 where upon turning my TV(used as a monitor) back on, all my windows would shrink to less than 800px high. Hopefully this fixes it!
Article: Flashback: Mac OS X Tiger Welcome Video
It's a shame when someone gets rid of one of their most unique features.
Back in the Tiger days, we got my mom a Macbook for Christmas one year. I set it up and installed all the apps she'd use before we even wrapped it up for her. To not...
I'd want to have a partition of SL on Ivy Bridge for running PPC apps from time to time, not as a main OS. I currently have an 1156 machine, but this would come in handy in a few years when I next upgrade, so thanks!
This is pretty cool. I have a feeling one day there will be very al most no difference between a real Mac and a Hackintosh...well much less than there is now!
Article: Inside MultiBeast: New FakeSMC Plugins and Hardware Monitoring App
This is pretty awesome. Stupid question: would it work with a real Mac Pro? At home I HacPro, at work I Mac Pro lol. Thanks!
Article: Apple issues OS X 10.8.2 and 10.7.5 Supplemental Updates
I had a lapse in judgment and updated this the normal App Store way (I use 3 other real Mac at work and home, so lapse in judgment). I got a boot loop.
I had to boot into my emergency Snow Leopard drive to re-run MultiBeast...
I had a lapse in judgment and updated this the normal App Store way (I use 3 other real Mac at work and home, so lapse in judgment).
I had to boot into my emergency Snow Leopard drive, as I (obviously) wasn't able to boot after the install. I wasn't able to boot into the UniBeast USB, then load...
Article: iPhone 5 expected to launch on the 12th
I look forward to the iPhone 5, but I REALLY look forward to jailbreak the iPhone 5! It probably wont happen until December if we're lucky!
Article: Review: Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 for Mac
"If it was Aluminum with backlit keyboard I would have given it a 10"
If Apple or anyone else made an aluminum backlit keyboard that was very similar to Apple's slim aluminum keyboard, I'd buy it right away! I don't know why they...
Article: UniBeast 1.5.3 Update
I had the same problem too. I think it's because I have Snow Leopard on the same drive / first partition. I cloned my Mt Lion to another drive and it seemed to work fine.
