I patched the DSDT with HDEF, fixed the ID Layout with the 888 78 03 00 00,
compiled with no errors, installed the dsdt.
I can see it in the System Information but no devices show in Sound Prefs.
I've attached a copy of the IOReg.
I did a search for "Azalia" to replace with "HDEF", comes up with "no word found".
I did a search for "Device" and scrolled through the whole DSDT but didn't find anything
that even remotely looked like Audio.
I'll try to add the "HDEF" and if it doesn't work I'll attach the IOReg.
I've built a Shuttle XH61 with the ALC887 audio.
I installed the Realtek drivers and HDA enabler ALC887/888b with the Apple Rollback.
Everything shows up right in the System Info, but when I go into the Sound or Midi it
shows "No devices Found".
I installed Lion with the updated 10.7.3

Re: Help with removing Snow Leopard to re-install
Everything went perfect. Boots from the hard drive, all devices are working.
Thank you so much for your patience and help, I really appreciate it.
Re: Help with removing Snow Leopard to re-install
Ok, I wiped and re-installed SL OS X 10.6.3 from the DVD
through Step 2.
FYI, I have the 10.6.5 combo update and Multibeast burned to a CD.
I assume these will work if copied from the CD to the desktop.
Re: Help with removing Snow Leopard to re-install
Ok, I'll start from scratch again, only to Step 2 and get back to you.
I really appreciate all your help, as you can tell this is my first experience with OS X.
Re: Help with removing Snow Leopard to re-install
Options I selected in Multibeast were:
Easybeast install
System Utilities
kexts & enablers
The only other thing I installed was the Realtek RTL 81xx driver for the ethernet.
Re: Help with removing Snow Leopard to re-install
Ok, got that to work. I just installed on top of the Snow Leopard volume.
Did that remove the MultiBeast I had previously installed?
Also, in the MultiBeast download, there are 2 installs packages which one should I use?
The Mac OS X or just...
I installed the iBoot and retail OS x SL 10.6.3 with no problems. Then installed the update
10.6.5 and MulitBeast with EasyBeast then rebooted. I'm getting panic errors when I try
to boot from the hard drive, even in safe mode. I tried the iBoot disc in safe mode and it
won't boot either...
