I'm next to useless I'm afraid. I was using the information here to get the Wireless router to work on my old Mac Pro. It was effective initially but I've had problems every time there was an Mac OS update so I removed the Wireless router and used one of those Mains/ethernet router things...
It's working now!
I've got no idea what made the difference but here's what I did:
I started up in Recovery mode
Opened Terminal and disabled SIP ( by typing "csrutil disable" at Terminal prompt)
restarted
followed the guide above (Wifi now working!)
emptied the trash and ran Disk Utility...
Thanks for your guide. This seems to help a lot of people so I was really hopeful but when I get to step 3 (Save the file) I get the error message "Operation not permitted".
I think this is because of El Capitan's SIP security thing.
