Following your steps, boot worked, reboot many times without problem. Then trying the sudo trimforce enable and now I get a kernel panic at boot. Is trim really necessary?

Following your advice I didn't install the usb 3 in multi beast. The SSD is a samsung SSD 840 EVO 250G which is in the buying list/ I was already using it for mavericks.
