Thanks! I did get my external graphics working by disabling IGFX (unfortunately couldn't get that to work with it). But I just found out some of my software isn't compatible with Big Sur so I might be heading back to Catalina. Thank you for posting this though!
Hey wckdkarma
I have the same exact build as you but having real trouble whenever I try to boot using the RX 580 graphics card. Any chance you can post your config.plist or what you had to do to get external graphics working? Works fine when I use internal graphics
I've been following this guide to get my Gigabyte Z97x-UD7 TH working on Big Sur: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...e-z97x-ud7-th-core-i5-hd4600-graphics.308505/
It boots up fine when using the inboard graphics, but when I try to install my RX580 and boot I get the Apple 'No entry" symbol...
Hey DJGuardian,
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have the same built but unfortunately I'm having major issues even booting from the USB loader. Any chance you could share your BIOS settings as well?
I just upgraded from the GTX950 to RX580, so my only other thought is maybe my old...
I have a Gigabyte Z97X UD7-TH, and going to upgrade to a Radeon RX580 while upgrading to Big Sur. Currently running high sierra, with a NVIDIA GTX 950
Does anyone know if this would cause any compatibility issues with Big Sur after changing my profile from 14,2?
Also where can I find the most...
Currently having an issue with my Dell AC511 Sound Bar, plugged in via USB 3.0, running on High Sierra
The issue is every couple minutes the audio has a gigantic gain spike, causing a distorted sound. If I turn the sound down almost completely I can hear the audio playing at a less distorted...
I meant it didn't boot up right when I just copied over the file. But when I copied over the whole EFI>Clover folder it worked. Everything is booting properly now, thanks.
However I do have an "El Capitan" Recovery Boot Option on my old SSD that I can't seem to get rid of, even when wiping with...
Okay got my SSD install to boot via my USB (no slow down issues). Booted with flags slide=0 and nvda_drv=1 (since Web Drivers were still installed)
Now I just need to change my SSD install's clover from 4722 to 4428. How can I roll that back? I tried just dragging my USB's clover in EFI to my...
I just realized that the latest High Sierra clover is 4428 for Unibeast(duh). I'm not sure why or how I was running 4722 before on my drives -- maybe that could contribute to why it was running so slow?
Either way I'm still stuck on bootup. I have a nvidia card so I remember having to do some...
I detached both my drives, BIOS showed the two "Mac OS" Options. I decided to remove these entries using shell commands. Reset CMOS and reloaded my last working settings. When I attached my backup SSD drive, then then detached and tried my main SSD, the "glitch" boot option was gone.
However...
Hello All,
Been dealing with a slow boot issue for sometime now. Started looking to my boot options and found this weird option, I can't determine what it is or how to remove it.
While I was trying to determine what was what (and what could be safely removed) I must have messed with the boot...
Oops I guess not. It IS in the folder \other now, no changes to the boot up process.
Trim is not enabled.
Not sure what the Boot0000 is about, but that looks to be the culprit. I did somewhat recently upgrade my SSD, so perhaps the BIOS is still trying to look for that?
In fact that might...
I think my FakeSMCkext is the latest, says it was last modified Sept 15th. If I recall, I installed all the Sensors and HWMonitor.
Tried putting it in Other, no changes
I didn't have Debug enabled, but do now. Here is the file.
My hackintosh (running 14,2) has been extremely slow to startup lately, taking about 3 minutes to boot up, whereas it used to be about 30 seconds. Even loading up clover it takes maybe a minute to get to the main screen as it cycles through "checking hardware, etc..."
I haven't noticed slow...
Is the USB-C on the maximus x hero Thunderbolt capable? I just got an adapter for a Thunderbolt audio interface, but I can't seem to get it working. I looked around but I can't seem to find any info on it. Are there any other work arounds? Thanks!
@pastrychef Sorry I should have clarified. My signature is a previous build.
I am following this build except for the graphics card (Asus Rog Maximus X Hero, i7-8700k)
I am looking to use IGPU if at all possible. I will mostly be using it for music production and only need basic functioning...
