@CaseySJ Have you upgraded your TrueNas Scale to Dragonfish? Curious how the experience is.

Thunderbolt 4, modified firmware, Full Thunderbolt Bus tree

The results I shared were with the on-board Thunderbolt disabled. Also, I did perform cold boots multiple times with the same result unfortunately.

Thunderbolt 4, modified firmware, Full Thunderbolt Bus tree

With the patched NVM36 on Asus ThunderboltEX 4, I'm able to see activated local bus but no uid and no devices are showing up. Also no connectivity.

Thunderbolt 4, modified firmware, Full Thunderbolt Bus tree

I finally managed to get it flashed. I'm not sure why I was having such difficulties. It would detect the Winbond chip almost every time, but the checksums were not lining up. After about the 50th attempt, it worked. I flashed it, and re-read, and it checked out. Now, on GC-Maple Ridge I had to...

Thunderbolt 4, modified firmware, Full Thunderbolt Bus tree

Do you think it’s safe to flash the patched firmware? I haven’t attempted to write back yet. Makes me nervous that my reads have turned to crap.

It is a Winbond. Strange, my initial extraction went flawlessly. Could the chip be F-d?

Thunderbolt 4, modified firmware, Full Thunderbolt Bus tree

I'm planning on using it in my Z690 Pro Art. I seem to be having issues when attempting to flash the patched firmware back. I went to re-connect the clip, and to verify I have a good connection, I follow your procedure of reading backups 1,2,3 and then comparing the shasum. Unfortunately, I'm...

Will the current SSDT with corrected RP be the correct route?

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

So, unbelievable. I stumbled on to making it work with NVM31. I've had the USB4 Tunneling option in the BIOS off. After more recent experiments with the Thunderbolt SDDT, I enabled it. Now the drive is mounting. Only getting 10Gb speed, which I believe is what I'm getting on a real Mac Pro, but...

@CaseySJ @Elias64Fr I have an Asus Thunderbolt EX4 add in card. I was hoping to experiment with patched firmware. Can either of you validate this firmware I pulled off the card? What version it is and possibly patch it to experiment with? Thanks!

Did you happen to test the OWC Express 1M2? I have not managed to get it recognized on my system using the current NVM31. The enclosure cooks on the newer M-Series Macs. On a real 2019 Mac Pro it is recognized, but at about half the speed of the M-Series Macs.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Had a similar incident. If you boot up off your SSD, check your startup disk setting under system preferences. What OS version does it read the drive that won't boot as? Is it the correct version? Or something newer?

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I'm also curious about this. I have retired my old Thunderbolt 1/2 devices and am no longer concerned with the older NVM compatibility. I also can see myself upgrading the CPU from 12th Gen. @dehjomz How are the newer BIOS files on the Formula? Wondering if there are new bugs afoot.

Thunderbolt 4, modified firmware, Full Thunderbolt Bus tree

I've been testing devices and sleep functionality this morning, getting some screen grabs when on an intentional reboot, my system became unable to boot. When I select my boot drive from picker, it goes dark, then comes back to the picker. I will point out that I have not changed my EFI since...

You were right! Had accidentally disabled the DTPG aml. Local bus is activated! Upon boot UltraFine monitor is recognized in the bus, but does not initialize. TS3 Plus dock is working. Sleep did work! When I woke it up, funny thing, the UltraFine came to life for about two minutes, then went...

Thanks so much! Reading the comments from @taylorsyn, I'm wondering if my problem is my UltraFine monitor. I think I've had it plugged in on every boot. I'll test without when I get home this evening.
