    macOS 10.15.5 Supplemental Update

I have a rather funny situation. The System Preferences tell me there is an update so I go check ut out. It informs me there is an update available, although its been a while so it is 10.15.4 that's being offered. If I close that window down, Catalina realises there is a new version out there...

    Black Screen with RX 580

Hi! I finally got past the black screen! :) It's still a bit iffy where the tabs on Safari are acting up, and the Download pop-up in the Dock seem to cripple the UI completely. Any idea on what might be causing that by any chance ? This is what I have under my Graphis section in config.plist...

    Black Screen with RX 580

I actually just did! :D Just took me about 5 months or so.... I got inspired by the Apple keynote so figured I'd give it another go. I added: <key>RadeonDeInit</key> <true/> to config.plist which seemed to fix the black screen issue! Now there seem to still be some issues where the tabs...

    Black Screen with RX 580

You are probably right. My system worked just fine on High Sierra though, so I figured I would be able to get it working with little effort.

Looks like you have a similar AMD card and similar (but newer) MOBO/CPU. Would you mind sharing your config.plist and possibly EFI folder?

    Black Screen with RX 580

Unfortunately this isn't the case for me. :( Anyone else with some ideas that I can try out? I've attached a zipped copy of my EFI folder in post above. Let me know if there is any other piece of information that could help figuring out what goes wrong with my RX580 card.

    Black Screen with RX 580

Yeah so I checked both DP ports and the HDMI ports as well. The HDMI ports are "dead" so the monitor just goes to sleep, while both DP ports DOES ouput something, but in essence just a black screen, so as you say, it kinda looks like it is still booting (left it overnight just in case last night)

    Black Screen with RX 580

I'm runnning Lilu 1.4.1 and WhateverGreen 1.3.6 which seems to be the latest, and FakeSMC 2018-0915. The integrated GPU was enabled in BIOS, but I disabled it with no effect. I attached a zipped up copy of my EFI folder.

    Black Screen with RX 580

Note that I did the original install quite a while ago (High Sierra), and now upgraded directly to Catalina if that could be a potential culprit.

    Black Screen with RX 580

Hi all, I used to run a NVidia card, but the other week I found myself a Sapphire RX 580 Nitro, so I decied to get back to my Mac and try to upgrade to Catalina. Just replacing the card, it booted right away to High Sierra, so I took the jump and updated to Catalina from App Store. It boot up...

Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Quick question: I'm still on High Sierra since I've been using nVidia 1070. I just sold that and got myself a Sapphire rx 580 nitro+ 8gb. Do I need to do anything with the install, or should it just boot happily OOTB in High Sierra? Would it work OOTB when upgrading to Catalina? Cheers

nvidia-update - Simple way to install nVidia web drivers

Wohooo !! Been trying like crazy to get this working, and your EFI folder finally did the trick ! :D One thing I noticed though was that the driver I got installed is .102 At one time after one of my earlier attempts, I did get the .156 installed. I've just used the script to install. What is...

nvidia-update - Simple way to install nVidia web drivers

Howdy ! Newbie me here again ! Still no nvidia driver being loaded. Looks like we have the same mobo, and similar NVIDIA GPU. I noticed there is a nvram.plist in there, and I read on some other thread that some ppl might need to do some stuff regarding nvram. So what should one do with...

nvidia-update - Simple way to install nVidia web drivers

No worries. I did use MultiBeast and that got me to a bootable OSX which is great, but it didn't fix the Nvidia drivers. Maybe I'm just too stupid for this. :D I copied the kexts into the extensions folder (and so does the tool above, but with root permission) since I read that in some other...

nvidia-update - Simple way to install nVidia web drivers

Yep I (as in my user) was the owner (naturally as I just dropped them). Deleted (needed sudo) and installed with KextBeast and that at least gave them the same owner as the rest of the bunch in the folder. They also have the same permissions as the rest of the kexts (drwxr-xr-x). Still reverts...

nvidia-update - Simple way to install nVidia web drivers

Yep just drag/dopped them ! :) These were the kexts I dropped: Lili / Shiki / NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext Is it just file permissions or something "deeper" ? I'll google KextBeast and see where that rabbit hole leads. :D Thanks ! Edit: I downloaded KextBeast and installed the beforementioned...

nvidia-update - Simple way to install nVidia web drivers

Hi all, Needs some newbie help here. I've managed to get my Hackintosh up and running, but I'm having trouble to get the Nvidia driver going. I ran the script, and the installation went fine. I'm not 100% sure where to put the 3 kext files mentioned though. Did a fast google and put them in...
