Bumping for help. I've got clover setup as followed.
FAKEID = 0x68101002
Frame buffer = Futomaki
ATIInject = True
I've tried an ASUS R9 270 card and a Sapphire R9 270X card. What gives?
I haven't modified any kexts.
Thanks for the help, and sorry for the slow response.
The device ID Spoof isn't working apparently, and i'm not really sure why. When clover boots it shows in the graphics menu that it is spoofing the ID correctly, but when I boot to OSX system profiler does not show a change in device ID. It...
Hey all,
So I just installed El Capitan using clover, and I'm having a hard time getting my R9 270 working.
I have tried setting the ATI injection to true as well as FakeID = 68101002 in clover with no dice.
Card is identified as R9 270 but VRAM is shown at 7MB and the screen has artifacts...

That did the trick after I deleted the ALC662 kext I installed formerly. But no volume control in OS X I'm guessing thats gotta be done on the output device?
So I finally got my build finished and its pretty much running flawlessly...except I'm stumped. No sound. I've tried a couple voodoo's and every ALC 662 kext I can find and no dice. Does anyone know how I can get my audio enabled? I'm going wacky here at 4am trying to figure it out. :crazy:
I'm...
UPDATE: Went over a friends house tonight with the motherboard and installed his Core 2 CPU. New motherboard still didn't post. I'm thinking its DOA. Drove to micro center to try and replace it. But manager was being a d*ck and wouldn't do the replacement because I was 15 minutes past closing...
You should just be able to format the second partition in disk utility for windows and then put in your windows disc, and format it again in the windows installer and install windows. Use your USB stick to boot back into chimera if the windows install changes your primary boot partition.
If I'm reading correctly. You partitioned the drive into two partitions. One is NTFS for windows 8.1 and the other is not formatted currently?
So you currently have 8.1 running on the system. You're going to use UniBeast to boot into OS X install and use disk utility to format the second...
Multiboot is possible on the same drive so long as you have both partitions formatted correctly and your primary bootloader set as chimera, clover, chameleon, etc. On my old inspiron 1525 I had a triple boot on an SSD. OS X, Windows Vista, and Ubuntu.
Agreed. Buying someone elses hackintosh is extremely risky if you don't understand how it works and what kexts are installed etc. I'd also suggest recovering what you can from the drive using an external enclosure and doing a fresh install with unibeast and multibeast.
Really? Hm. Weird then. I don't know. Lets put it this way, if the new CPU comes and both motherboards still don't post i'm just gonna give up. At this point as a college student i'm in way too deep cash wise at this point and don't have any more money to throw into the build. If worst comes to...
It's on the side where the CPU socket is but not the closest cap. It doesn't seem to be blown as the top hasn't bubbled up. Although I'm positive I saw the arc of electricity come from that caps solder joints as its right on the corner and I stared at it for a while before my brain started...
Thank you so much for the reply and help.
I don't have a motherboard tester unfortunately. :/
The little cylinders on the board. I saw an arc of electricity go from a solder joint on the bottom of the board at that corner where a capacitor is located to the case. Nothing exploded to my...
I wasn't really sure where to post this question. So if this is in the wrong section I apologize.
Recently I was working on my G4 casemod. I had my hackintosh fully booted running OS X Mavericks using unibeast all hardware working and supported with an intel DG41TY motherboard and a nvidia...
