Here is my problem. I've got this error on my verbose screen after the installation of the new Nvidia drivers - no Graphics cards support, nothing showing in the card slot, no graphics support, just the message Nvidia Chip model 8 MB. It's a GTX980(sc) edition card.
FATAL GM204 not supported...

I'm glad all is working on your end!
Good ol Sierra 10.12.6 - has killed my functioning computer!
I'm doing my best to get this computer running 100%.
I have a major problem with my Asus X99 Pro w/ a GTX 980 SC. My card produces a fatal error in the verbose screen. I have followed...
Got it. Not sure what posts you are referring to. Just asking questions.... this installer for El Cap on the X99 is not straightforward - seems like many people here are having similar issues. We must be dedicated to solving these problems together, rather than resorting to unproductive behavior.
I just know what's happening on my system. I'm heading back to do a complete reinstall and maybe this might do it. There is a serious conflict with something on the drive. I'll report back.
Testing now.... will update in 2 minutes
Nope.... didn't do it. In fact it can't even get into the boot screen now.
Placed this under CLOVER/drivers64UEFI .... no luck
This is where it was suppose to be, right? Just checking.
Well, what I loaded was from the latest build......
What I have now is ----
Error allocating 0x800 pages at 0x0000000017a00000 alloc type 2
Error loading kernel cache (0xe)
Boot failed
...I wonder what I've done wrong.
Quite simply the X99 is vastly superior to anything the MacPro 2013 ed. If I compare the X99 i7 6 core to the 6 core Xeon ---- geek benching ----- X99 non overlock is 22000 vs 18690 Xeon 6 core. Right now I run an over clock that is slightly faster than a 10 core/20 thread Xeon in terms of...
My very first Hackintosh build was 4 years ago and I ran into a very similar issue. Turns out I used too much thermal compound and I had a crappy cooler unit that made matters worse. The CPU was constantly 40C running and 85C under load. So, I took off the thermal compound and and cooler and...
I had the same thing happen with the GTX980 SC when I first got my rig to boot up. If DVI is working then you should try simply using the display port. If you aren't getting either your HDMI or HDMI audio to work then - I'd say - it is your custom support kext has not been added correctly or at all.
NOTE OF WARNING. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH RATIO+BLCK tuning!
So I have been tinkering with my Asus X99 Pro motherboard BIOS setting for the overclock. I have the following settings:
I am using an i7 5930K, 6 core/12 thread processor + GTX980 8-)
BIOS settings:
BLCK frequency + ratio tuning...
The TBII card by ASUS does not work in MacOSX without first being authorized in windows - from my experience. I have done some kext modifications but so far - this is the only way I can get thunderbolt working. Now - I do have a friend of mine who said that with the right kext installed, this...
You will get your full speed. No problem!
Thunderbolt 2 has a good amount of head room for data. I currently use the ASUS TBII mk II card with 2 - 1 TB SSD's in RAID for a solid 1.2 GB/sec read - 1 GB/sec write.
