Just finished installing windows 8.1 on a spare drive and the driver for the thunderbolt card. Then I removed the spare drive and booted Yosemite and my thunderbolt ethernet adapter was found. So now I'm happy :) BTW the card works with all Z97/87 Asus boards with thunderbolt headers...

Just installed Asus Thunderbolt 2 card. It shows up in bios but does not work under OSX. Apparently I have to initialize the firmware on the card after installing the card in a Windows environment first. Such a hassle :)
