I was able to get this working using an Nvidia GT 640 card instead of HD 4600, then ran the steps from the first page again. So far all iTunes trailers have played without any lockups or problems.
Thanks for the help and fix!
Just installed Sierra GM, shouldn't there be another version number in brackets after 'Version 10.12'? i.e. 16A320
It does say macOS 10.12 (16A320) via System Report.
Just tried this (removed the 'AppleIntelHD3000GraphicsVADriver.Bundle' file with 'defaults write com.apple.AppleGVA forceIntel -boolean yes') and had the same results. A couple of TV trailers played ok, but as soon as I tried a movie trailer (The Huntsman: Winter's War) it completely locked up -...
I couldn't get this to work by copying into any of the folders in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/, so I installed Shiki.kext to /Library/Extensions using KextBeast and now trailers from iTunes will play, but some will lock up the computer (i.e. Dad's Army The Movie 2016 - both HD and SD).
This is with an...
Not sure why iTunes video has stopped working on your Sandy Bridge, but all 3 of my SBs play back iTunes DRM video without any problems. These are running the latest El Capitan, Nvidia GT 640 and Nvidia 610 cards, HD to HD (Dell HD display).
Although trying to play back via Intel HD graphics...
Something else I've noticed. When it does boot directly from the Mac SSD it won't fail to boot until the computer has been powered off either at the mains or via the on/off switch on the back of the case.
A while ago it was booting from the SSD fine. I shut the computer down and switched it...
I was able to get rid of the duplicate entries in the BIOS and so far they haven't reappeared, but now I'm back to having the same boot issues without the duplicate entries. Verbose boot gives different errors (an error about the bluetooth, removed BT, then an error about the USB hub, unplugged...
Same here. Clover works well for a certain number of boots, but since using, it creates multiple entries in the BIOS drive listing. After about 12-15 boots the BIOS can no longer boot, which then involves disconnecting the Mac drive to clear the BIOS entries, rebooting with the UniBeast USB to...
The only way to clear the duplicate entries in the BIOS for me is to disconnect the Mac drive and reboot. Then shut down, reconnect the Mac drive and the duplicates are gone, but they start adding up again with each Mac boot.
OK, got a reply from Asus and they recommended that I reset the CMOS and update to the latest BIOS. I did both and I'm having the same problem.
Anything else you think might be worth trying?
I installed El Capitan successfully (on the Asus H97M-PLUS) using the Clover Guide on here and everything seems good except for one thing: about once a week (I think it's every 12 boots - see below) the Mac SSD won't boot. I get the boot screen and apple logo but the progress bar goes all the...
Definitely seems to be related to what was installed. Has only happened twice, both times after those installations and the reboots were directly after each installation. Must have rebooted at least 10-15 times since installation.
When it does't boot the progress bar goes all the way to the...
Not sure if it's the same issue but I was able to boot from the SSD without any problems after installing with UniBeast. Then I installed Trim Enabler and rebooted, it refused to boot without the USB drive. Uninstalled Trim Enabler and was able to boot directly again.
Then I installed Java...
Just got another GT 610 (even though I returned the first one which was for my main hackintosh, whereas this is for a secondary one).
- Preview 7.0 from Mavericks works ok, so no image save problems (both with and without the Nvidia web driver).
- Pixelmator 3.0 (from a Mountain Lion...
