    Yosemite USB/Audio Sleep/Wake Issues

This tool fixed the audio-after-sleep issues I've had with Mavericks: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/127038-realtek-alc-892-no-sound-after-sleep-10-9-2-a-9.html#post850928

    Asus X79 Sabertooth | Core i7-3960x (Successful)

I'm imagining that GeekBench will increase significantly when you get everything sorted, that's only slightly higher than my 1.5 year old build with an i7-970 (see signature.)

    dual head quadro 4000?

I've maxed out my i7-970 board with 24 GB of RAM. Haven't managed to get my Quadro 4000 to work under 10.6.8 though...

Mac OS X 10.6.8 Supplemental Update (and Combo Update v1.1)

I lost my audio, and QuickTime lost the ability to play any videos with audio (you can scrub but you can't play.) Restoring back to plain 10.6.8 until I have time to mess with it.

Upgrading from ATI5770 to Quadro 4000

Thanks, I'll try "npci=0x2000" and report back. I'm already using the 3,1 definition.

Upgrading from ATI5770 to Quadro 4000

No luck. Sometimes it won't boot but stops at "PCI ..." during verbose booting. Other times it boots, but I get really poor CineBench scores of 20 fps. I just removed the card so I can get some work done, but I'd really appreciate if someone could give me a hint about what to try next!

Upgrading from ATI5770 to Quadro 4000

I have a fully working system with 10.6.8 and an ATI5770 card, no problems at all. System definition Mac 3,1. I now have a shiny new Quadro 4000 for Mac on the desk, waiting to replace the 5770. Is this the correct procedure? Clone working boot disk.[/*:m:3cvqhrcw] Install the...

    Solution for ALC889 and 10.6.8

I solved this by simply opening MultiBeast 3.8.0 and checking "System Utilities" and then choosing only the "AppleHDA Rollback"

    Changing boot drives

Thanks! I've now managed to boot directly from my SSD without having to intervene in the boot process. This should be added to an FAQ, you wouldn't believe how long I've searched for a solution!

    Changing boot drives

I have a basic question that I can't find any answer to (searching for "boot" in the forum results in 10,000+ search hits.) I have cloned (with CarbonCopyCloner) the drive I used for the original SL Hackintosh installation, and if I interrupt the booting in Chimera and choose to boot...

CustoMac Pro Install Guide (X58A-UD3R+ATI 5770+10.6.7+64bit)

Re: CustoMac Pro Install Guide (X58A-UD3R+ATI 5770+10.6.6+64bit) The point of SATA3 is to be faster than SATA2. This speed increase is wasted on harddrives, as they can't fill SATA2.

Re: CustoMac Pro Install Guide (X58A-UD3R+ATI 5770+10.6.6+64bit) A harddisk will not be fast enough in itself to fill SATA2 (which allows up to 300 MByte/s) so you wouldn't see any benefit from connecting it to a SATA3 port. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA ... 6_Gbit.2Fs

Re: CustoMac Pro Install Guide (X58A-UD3R+ATI 5770+10.6.6+64bit) "Retail image?" I'm always surprised when I hear people using copied software and OS:es and at the same time wondering why they're having problems. Who knows what has been injected into pirated software? The spammers and botnet...

CustoMac Pro Install Guide (X58A-UD3R+ATI 5770+10.6.7+64bit)

Re: CustoMac Pro Install Guide (X58A-UD3R+ATI 5770+10.6.6+64bit) I got kernel panic problems when I had installed with the eSATA and GSATA controllers enabled. I would turn those off (or at least to AHCI according to the guide) and possibly reinstall with them off. Your error messages seem to...

If you have the same hardware and software, it should work (unless you have faulty hardware.) You might have missed...
