Hi Y'all, is there anything wrong with Z68X-UD3P-B3 and i5 2500k, i'v put them together in a G5 case but when I start it up, the lights on the mobo come on and stay on, and then the G5 switchs off and back on again, help, cheers.

Although this is not really the right place to ask (as this is about hardware mods) I do have that board and did have the same problem from time to time. Mine turned out to be a slightly corrupt bios as one day it completely flipped on me, loaded the bios from the backup (automatically) and has been fine ever since!

So probably I would try updating the bios and see if that cures your problem…

I haven't tried it without the G5, it's something i'll try.

minihack, how do you update the board when I can't get it working.

Dschijn, yes it works with regular HD Led, Power Switch ect; with me taking out the G5 connections, that the problem do you think, the G5 F/P connections.

I'd do a CMOS reset first... I had a Gigabyte board that lost its mind and did the restarts. It also fell into automatic bios recovery after about the 3rd failed startup, but even after that the CMOS had to be reset. Maybe starting there will help.

Is there a graphics card installed?

Edit... ohhh, just saw it works without front panel connected. That sounds like a shorted power switch.

Hi Juan, a shorted power switch, that it could be, as Ive loaded 10.9 with the usual PWS ect, and it's fine.
