Hi there, I'm looking to overclock my Core i5 to 4.6 Ghz, but I am having trouble geting it to boot (kernel panic) when I go past 4.3 Ghz. I understand that it is something to do with an SSDT file. So far I have tried using "Drop SSDT = Yes" in Multibeast, but found no luck. After doing some research, I haven't really found a clear answer on what I exactly need to do to get my system running on 4.5 Ghz. In windows 8.1, I am able to overclock the processor to 4.6 Ghz without any stability issues at a steady 60 degrees Celsius under full load. I was wondering if somebody could give me some instructions on what I need to do in order to get OSX mavericks working properly overclocked.
Current system specs:
Intel core i5 4670k processor (watercooled)
16 GB of ram
Nvidia GTX 760 graphics card (watercooled)
Gigabyte Z87MX-D3H motherboard
120 GB SSD (used primarily for OSX)
1TB HDD (Windows 8.1 and files)
Thanks for your help!
