MultiBeast 8.0.1 not able to run on UPDATED 10.11.2

But I am having success running it on a fresh installation! My system is in my profile - same build just wanted to try out the newer software.

USB installation was painless for me

Booted with no issues
- MultiBeast runs
- Legacy Boot Mode
- ALC1150
- FakeSMC HWMonitor Application v6.18.1394 - RealtekTRL8111 v2.0.0

The thing is there is only one OS X El Capitan Recovery Update 1.0 listed that is different from this new install to my other one that was working - it had updated and I wanted to make a bootable external emergency drive.

Cloned it just fine and then realized I couldn't run MultiBeast at all on either installations suddenly. I tried making the "Install Disk" disc0, disconnecting a bunch of things. Terminal commands to "refresh" the MB installer... Nothing was working. So I thought I would try this and if it worked I'd be able to run MB on the new install onto my last one, but that is a no go as of yet. So I have a brand new installation with none of my customization I can boot from and one install that is slightly broken in that I have to use USB to boot to... Or I guess I could use the boot loader to select the internal SATA with the "old"installation - but that just seems like defeat to me...

Clover post install script failed.

Are you trying to install on a MBR volume? If so, that is not supported.

It is actually a GUID formatted SATA HDD with one partition, plus the EFI... Is that what could be causing the inability to finish running MultiBeast? That my EFI boot partition is messed up some how?

I ended up running MB on the "new" un-upgraded installation then clumsily just mounting both EFIs and copying over the boot and EFI folders with finder to the "old/used/upgraded" drive.

Now both installs boot, but the newer one still won't run MB on itself - same error.

Any thoughts?

For all intents and purposes this works for now - I just would like to be able to clone my El Capitan once in a while and make that eSATA connected image bootable with MB. Right now I cannot run MB except on fresh installation of 10.11.2.

I will post new logs from the install I'm trying to make this work on - the logs I posted were from the "new" drive trying to run MB on the "old", so maybe that will clarify further.

EFI partition must have gotten messed up beyond my repair so I was eventually able to use the cloned image (used superduper) to duplicate onto the main HDD, boot using clover USB, re-ran MultiBeast 8.0.1, success installing! Boot from main drive, clover then OS El Capitan loads - no errors. Then ran clover configurator to put in new serial and UUID info in - was having issues because I had 10.6.8 & 10.11.2 installed on two drives plus the 10.11.2 esata backup all with the same smbios info, was killing App Store and Update and ethernet.


I can't say how much this site has helped me in my tinkering and in my business, while I seem to be always running outdated hardware and scouring the forums for info that will work for my setup - I can't wait to spend a chunk of change and make a new hackintosh this year and I expect that the users and creators of tonymac to be invaluable as they have been.
