So i installed OSX Yosemite on my computer and now i want to install windows on the same harddrive as dual boot. So i made a free space partition for windows but if i want to install (Windows 8) on that partition it says windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style. Any idea how to fix this without reinstalling OSX? Im installing windows from a USB btw.

PC Specs

ASROCK Z77 - Extreme4

See second part of http://www.tonymacx86.com/multi-booting/96000-guide-dual-booting-mountain-lion-windows-8-a.html about installing on same drive.
Are you using Chimera or Clover for booting?

I guess it is using a UEFI bios and yes it is a 64 bit version!

Same issue, but with Chimera. My system refuses to get past the apple logo on Clover, and I've tried 10+ times. Multibeast always works, but windows refuses to install.

I've booted from windows 7 dvd. I've used rufus to build mbr, uefi for mbr, and uefi for uefi. I get the message every time.

See link in post #3
Using Chimera boot loader Win7 must be installed Legacy mode. Windows partition created and formatted MSDOS FAT with OS X disk utility creates a hybrid GPT/MBR partition. When booting Win7 installer make sure legacy mode is enabled in BIOS/UEFI and, using function key to select boot device, make sure you select the non-UEFI Win7 install device.
In the screen where you select the partition to install Win7, select the MSDOS FAT partition, click on advanced, click on format, then continue install.

So trying to install from the DVD should work because it's likely not going to call UEFI.

The bios of the z97m+ is an absolute mess. The CSM has TOO many options. I'll try it again.

"Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk is disk is of the GPT partition style." This is what I get using a non-uefi windows 7 disk.

Honestly, I wish I could my MB to boot with Clover. That would make all of this so much easier. The closest I have come is formatting my unibeast USB as GUID, installing yosemite, running multibeast, then overriding it with clover. However, things get a little crazy if I try to add another OS, and the MB can call clover or chimera. Obviously this isn't the solution.
