    Pogipants: yes that pretty much correct though you need a patched installer to let you install on MBR.

    To clarify, UEFI can boot GPT! But I don't know how/if it's possible to boot osx from it one way or another. What doesn't support GPT is BIOS Legacy mode of the UEFI.

    Scrap passing by 10.6 if you are doing a full install. It's definitely possible to just install 10.7 without jumping through hoops. Here's my progress so far. Use one of the USB installer guides to create a bootable lion installer. Remember it must have an MBR partition table, not GUID/GPT...

    Now I'm having other issues... It appears Chimera won't install on my internal SSD. iBoot Legacy can boot my install just fine (well with no HD graphics and some other things but it boots). I run Multibeast and install chimera, MacbookPro8,1 smbios, minimal boot.plist but no go. It just won't...

    also I'm using a USB disk with the OSX DVD restored on it, but it shouldn't make a big difference, no? EDIT: I forgot to mention my specs since they are not in my info... Lenovo x220 Core-i7-2620M, 8GB ram, Intel 320 120GB SDD (Intel 6205 Wifi, which I assume I'd need to replace but that's ok)

    PCIRootUID=1 -x KPs on pmap_steal_memory. To be frank I wasn't even going to hackintosh this machine in the first place, but seeing how shitty the support is for it in Ubuntu 10.10 I figured if I have to mess around anyway ;)

Seems my external optical disk setup wasn't working, I'm using another drive and another usb adaptor and it loads iBoot... however I'm getting "Still waiting for root device" error, even with...
