So I don't really want to spend the multiple thousands to get a new laptop, especially when everything except the graphics are on par with modern low-end macbook pros, and I began looking into alternatives when I found this...
Tried "PCIRootUID=1", "PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes", and "PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes IGPEnabler=No" with no luck. nv_disable=1 let's me get to the desktop, but even after running multi beast I can't boot without nv_disable=1.
Solution was NPCI=0x2000
I am also having a similar issue. I have the same motherboard, but a i7-3770K and an EVGA GeForce 770. I set my BIOS, installed Mavericks, and now as soon as it gets past the apple loading screen, my monitor turns black. I've tried several boot flags with no success. I can still boot into...
This is a good guide and I double checked my BIOS, but I can't even boot after I've installed ML on my drive; I get a kernel panic as soon as it starts loading the OS. Is there someway to install ML without starting with a clean drive? Last time I did that half of my software became...
Hey guys, I posted here a few weeks ago with this same problem and it did not get resolved. This time I'll start off with a pic of the panic screen. I have tried some things to fix it, but want to get others' input before I share what I've tried already.
My system is a GA-Z77N-WIFI, an...
Okay, so I changed the smbios to MacMini6,2 and added the dart=0 (both Dart and dart), and it's still getting the same kernel panic. Anymore ideas?
Thanks.
Are you sure vt-d exists in Gigabyte bios? I checked again and couldn't find it, and "advanced CPU settings" doesn't seem to exist. Also which plist? There are two in the Extras folder and neither is just "plist".
Where would I find the smbios and plist if I was browsing my disk? To change the smbios and plist do I just type it in as you wrote it? Also, what do you mean by vt-d? I looked through my bios again and didn't see vt-d or anything that abbreviated to that.
Kernel Panic "Should have 8 threads, but only found 9" [Unsolved]
Like the title says I'm getting a kernel panic after boot up. This is after I have installed Mountain Lion but before I've gotten to Multibeast. The panic message is "Should have 8 threads, but only found 9 for die 0" Let me know...
I'm looking at the GIGABYTE GA-Z77N-WIFI LGA 1155, recommended for the customac mini duluxe, and the GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA 1155, recommended for the customac pro. Obviously one is $80 more than the other, but I'm wondering if there will be any noticeable performance difference, particularly...
