My open CL score went from 111 on a GTX 970 (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-ga-z170x-ud5-i7-6700k-evga-gtx970-skylake-imac-17-1.204813/) to 118 with a RX 590 (#29).
Read this to learn about quick sync...
H.264 is not hardware accelerated codec. I just upgraded to Mojave and switched from the gtx 970 to rx 590. Quick sync works when exporting h.265. I just posted a screenshot in the 590 thread
my efi folder can be found in the last post in this thread if you want to compare...
The hackintosh has been plugging away for 27 hours now encoding mpeg2 and h.265 streams. Super happy with switching to AMD and enabling quick sync. Now I gotta sell the GTX 970 now since it's collecting dust

I attached the EFI folder. A few things to keep in mind with my setup
1. igpu/intel 530 is activated/headless for quick sync in adobe
2. not running APFS. still using MacOS Extended Journaled
3. Custom SSDT for USB on my motherboard
hope this helps
Thought I'd update this thread. after running 10.12.6 for years I finally upgraded to Mojave. Also switched out the GTX 970 for a RX 590. Overclocked the 6700k to 4.5GHz @ 1.35v.
I just switched from the GTX 970 which was hardly being utilized by Premiere Pro, etc. Now I have the RX 590, and I see Premiere utilizing the memory and processor all the time now with Metal.
