Turns out that I still have some issues with the Sierra install. Specifically two things:
1. The lowest display brightness is too bright, ie. it should be lower so that the battery lasts longer; pretty annoying issue. The absolute lowest is completely off, but the next step above is quite...
For what it is worth: I had the same sleep problem when using the wrong config.plist together with El Capitan.
I would suggest to make sure you are using the latest Sierra config.plist and make sure you correctly patched and applied the DSDT. (Did you remember to also run --update in the repo...
Thanks so much brianbass and sieula! I now finally got it working :).
I had the same problem as sieula, and after deleting the CoreDisplay.tbd the pixel patch worked and the boot issue was resolved.
Note to anyone that forgot to remove it and is in the same situation: the script creates...
If you still have that list of steps, I would definitely be interested in it just in case there is some little thing that I did differently. Also I am sure new people coming in would like to have a more up to date list of steps instead of reading through the whole thread like I am sure most...
I gave up and never got it working unfortunately so I have no solution for you.
Did you get it to work? I have the exact same problem as you. Which BIOS version do you have? I have BIOS revision A07, and not the latest, which I think is A09? Perhaps it is required to update the BIOS?
Thanks RehabMan for helping me with this, it is very appreciated.
My guess is that you didn't set DVMT-prealloc as required
My DVMT-prealloc is set to 160MB (as is required in the config.plist)
your config.plist is not correct,
I use the config.plist from the dark-void repo so it should be...
Wow great hint, I noticed that the DarkVoid repo contains subrepos, so it is not enough to just clone it, you also have to run git submodule init and git submodule update to get all the DSDT patches.
So now I also got a DSDT.aml
However applying the correct patches did not change anything, it...
Sorry about that here is a better error report:
I have attached CLOVER folder minus themes dir, and I took a video of the verbose output, since it removed all output before it hangs.
More information: I can boot into the installed Sierra system fine with the kexts and the .plist as long as I do...
Hi,
I am stuck on a clean install of Sierra (12.6) on the XPS 9530. I've been running Yosemite for over 2 years on it with no issues and thought it was time for an update.
Problem: After booting into the finished Sierra install and applying the script (patching DSDT, patching CoreDisplay and...
Hmm i see! I use the-darkvoids script to compile the DSDT, however I tried to do a new compilation now with a new dump from clover in case something occurred the last time, but it did not help.. Any way to debug this?
I read through the boot log now, looking for things that may be related to...
I see, however the bluetooth is only recognised after the laptop has been in sleep mode. Before I sleep it, it is only listed as 'Not available'. Could these problems be related?
I have now tried all possible ways I could find to disable and re-enable the card in Win 8(in driver, adapter settings, and airplane mode as well as FN key) and unfortunately it did not change anything.
I had a look in the Console on OS X, and I noticed that the BrcmPatchRAM only runs after...
The card works in Windows, and in Linux (albeit after a sleep cycle) but not in OSX. The card is recognised by Yosemite, but the status is displayed as off and I am unable to turn it on. The bluetooth is only recognised and functioning after a sleep cycle.
To install Yosemite I have followed...
Apart from following the guide, is any further configuration required to get a functioning wifi with BCM94352Z?
For those that have the BCM94352Z, how is the linux support? Is it immediately recognised(using the bcmwl-kernel-source driver), or does it show as blocked by hardware switch?
Maybe...
