Hi Guys,
The motherboard I am interested in from the buyer's guide is no longer available, will the following work:
GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming GT (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel MotherboardThanks,

Thanks Rehabman. It now runs much cooler. One problem remains, if I close the laptop monitor it seems to go into some wierd state, reopening the lid does not wake the laptop up, I have to force a power cycle. Any suggestions?
thanks,
sridhar
It says: "If your CPU ends in 'M' use the ProBook Installer to create a custom MacBookPro9,1 or MacBookPro9,2."
Mine is not a Probook, do these instructions still apply?
If yes, do I get the probook installer from:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/57319162/ProBook%20Installer%206.1.13r3.zip...
I did:
"- UserDSDT or DSDT-Free Installation
- Sandy/Ivy only: Drivers & Bootloaders -> Drivers -> System -> Patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement. "
I don't think I did:
"If you have an Ivy Bridge CPU, you should obtain/create an appropriate System Definition (/Extra/smbios.plist)"
Could you...

Pls ignore. I am re-reading the instructions for 10.9, I think this is what I am supposed to do:
"1. Turn on the computer
2. Press the hotkey to choose boot device
If you have a Gigabyte motherboard press F12
If you have a ASUS motherboard, press F8
3. Choose USB-HDD
4. At the Chimera Boot...
This is how I am attempting to boot. I plugged in the USB, in the screen where the "Mavericks" and "USB" icons appear, I choose "USB" then type -v -f this brings me to the installer screen.
Is this not the correct procedure?
thanks,
srydy
Thanks for the link. If I attempt to boot from USB, it brings up the OS installation screen (see attached), does this mean I have to reinstall the OS? Will I lose all the data? Or am I doing something wrong?

I searched for "AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement" in the forums, it returned several results, not sure which one has the proper instructions. Can you please let me know if there is an article on how to install the patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement?
thanks,
srydy
