    Thanks Rehabman. It now runs much cooler. One problem remains, if I close the laptop monitor it seems to go into some wierd state, reopening the lid does not wake the laptop up, I have to force a power cycle. Any suggestions? thanks, sridhar

    I upgraded my hackintosh to 10.9.3 (Chimera 3.0 and MB 6.3), I noticed that it is running very hot since then. Sleep mode does not work either, after few minutes of idle instead of sleeping it goes into boot cycle, fails to boot completely and gets very hot, closing the display does the same...

    This is how I am attempting to boot. I plugged in the USB, in the screen where the "Mavericks" and "USB" icons appear, I choose "USB" then type -v -f this brings me to the installer screen. Is this not the correct procedure? thanks, srydy
