I'm having this issue too but with an IDE DVD drive. safe mode doesn't work for me either. For 9. Set BIOS to Optimized Defaults, then set SATA to AHCI mode and HPET to 64-bit I don't have an option in my bios that specifically says AHCI mode and for HPET its just enabled or disabled...
