I must have done something incredibly wrong somewhere along the way.
I completed the steps to allow the --spoof Hacker kext file. I still got the "Waiting for..." error on boot. I then removed all of that and just applied the 10.12.2 patches to the EFI config.plist file to patch the IONVMe.kext...
I have reviewed your instructions for the --spoof and I believe I could do them without issue, but it still raises the question - how do I generate the HackrNVMeFamily.kext file for 10.12.2 when I can't boot into 10.12.2? Can I run the script on a genuine mac? My MacBook Air is on 10.12.2.
OK, now I'm confused as to how to do the point updates on an NVMe drive.
I have restored my install to how it was following the point update install - removed all HackerNVMe...kext files and restored the IONVMeFamily.kext. I have checked my clover.plist and it is configured to inject kext...
From 12.1, downloaded the combo update, generated the RehabMan patch for 12.2, put it in EFI Clover area under the 10.12 folder. Removed IONVMe...kext file from /S/L/E after the upgrade, and removed the kext cache folder from /S/L/E after the upgrade (both via booting into my backup of my drive...
Thanks to this thread and the linked thread, I was also able to do an in-place upgrade my macOS install to Sierra on a Samsung 950 Pro drive. Here are the steps I followed:
Step 0: make sure you don't have any old NVMe kexts laying around in your /S/L/E directory. The only one you should see is...
Got this working on my Gigabyte Z170MX gaming 5. Tried both "darkwake" and darkwake=8 settings, sleep is still weird (takes a long time, kb/mouse unresponsive for a little bit) but it gets there eventually.
For item #2, I was partially able to remediate this by updating the BIOS on the motherboard, which defaulting all my BIOS settings back to default. So I'm not sure if it was the BIOS or if it was the resetting all settings. I upgraded from F3 to F4 BIOS. It still pauses, but only for 5-10...
For item #1 - I tried to use the clover config.plist patch here from Pike R Alpha and that didn't seem to fix it (removing nv_dislabed=1 resulted in the same black screen).I made sure my SMBIOS settings were for iMac 17,1 and had serial #s and everything.
I confirmed my computer is still...
I'm assembling my new hackintosh and having several problems.
1. [Workaround, see reply #1] Having to use nv_disable=1 with my 660 GTX. On my previous build (see signature) I didn't have to do this. But now, if I don't use nv_disable=1, the screen goes to power save mode about 2/3rds of the way...
So I've had a hell of a time trying to upgrade my Hacktinosh to 10.11.
I followed the instructions here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capitan-desktop-guides/172672-unibeast-install-os-x-el-capitan-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html after testing that Clover worked with my configuration as...
Where can we download MultiBeast - Mavericks 6.1.0 or 6.2.1? Does it have to be that one, or can it by any 6.x version? I have 6.0, 6.3, 6.4, etc. But no 6.1 or 6.2!
I have a Z77-DS3H and I was somewhat successful in upgrading to 10.10. Audio took a little messing with the control panel to select "internal speakers" to get the audio to come out. Also, I have a separate network card ("Yukon Gigabit Adapter, 88E8053 Singleport") and am not using the built-in...
I replaced my GTS 250 with a GTX 660, and changed GraphicsEnabler to No, and now I get a kernel panic on startup.
The offending modules appears to be...
org.usrsse2.NVClockX 1.0.2d
-org.netkas.FakeSMC
-com.apple.iokit.oiPCIFamily
I can confirm this works for me.
0. Delete all kexts out of /S/L/E that you've modified or replaced.
1. Reinstall the 10.8.3 combo update to replace those kexts to the 10.8.3 default.
2. Restore the IOAudioFamily.kext from 10.8.2 using Time Machine (or whatever backup you use)
3...
