    Vega 56 Performance Issues

I use my hackintosh for game development so I spend a lot of time in 3d programs like Unity3D. Previously I was using a gtx970ti on Sierra and had few issues. After updating to High Sierra (10.13.4) however, I ended up with lots of UI lag and horrible METAL & OpenGL performance even with the...

    LG 34UM95 3440x1440 monitor supported?

I just nabbed this monitor and am running into issues with the refresh rate on 10.8.5. using dp (60hz) or hdmi (50hz) it gives me this: http://i.imgur.com/lUu3o2s.jpg and only seems to work if I set the refresh rate to 30hz. Do you think upgrading to mavericks will solve this issue?

Network Connection would collapse, then crash the system; on 10.9

Yes all of my issues are with mountain lion. It seems to happen when I try to read/write multiple files over the network. Caused a hard-lock on my Ubuntu server today.

Network Connection would collapse, then crash the system; on 10.9

No I'm still having this issue periodically when transferring files either via iTunes or other means. However, with the older kext the entire network no longer goes down.

Network Connection would collapse, then crash the system; on 10.9

Thanks for this post! I have a GA-Z77X-UD5H and it was bringing my entire wired network down (wifi still worked). It was the strangest thing and I had a feeling it had something to do with mavericks. I'll report back if the kext downgrade did not work...but so far so good.

switch from sandy to ivy bridge...?

thanks for the reply! I've moved on to a gtx660ti but I'll see if I can dig up the article. And I think my bios is fully updated (at least as far as the DSDT is concerned). I know I won't get much of a boost in performance, but I have the chip laying around and my server needs an upgrade =)

switch from sandy to ivy bridge...?

I guess I should clarify - I currently run a sandy bridge chip (i7-2700k) and would like to upgrade to an ivy bridge chip (i7-3770k). Just curious as to if any software changes need to happen or if it will just work. Thanks again.

switch from sandy to ivy bridge...?

Can I simply swap a sandy-bridge to an ivy-bridge without any issues in 10.8.2? Or will I need to make software changes as well? Thanks!

switching from ati 6870 to nvidia gtx660ti - how?

Hi everyone, I have a Hackintosh running perfectly with an ATI 6870 on 10.8.1, I just got a GTX660Ti and when I swap the cards I get a kernel crash right when it hits the apple screen. How should I go about switching these video cards? I tried 'GraphicsEnabler=No' on startup and the result...

    fresh lion install w/uniboot=AppleIntelCPUPowerManagemet err

After using Easybeast instead of Userbeast I was left with a fully functional system minus network & audio. I installed the network drivers, AppleHDA Rollback, and ALC889. The ethernet card was now functional and my audio card was now registering to the system - EXCEPT I do not get any audio...

    fresh lion install w/uniboot=AppleIntelCPUPowerManagemet err

I tried uniboot this evening and ran into an issue. The Lion install goes through fine, but after running the latest multibeast with my DSDT from the database upon reboot I get a kernel panic stating: Any idea why this kext is giving me a kernel panic? EDIT: I tried easybeast instead of...

have to manually repair permissions on every reboot

I finally got around to messing with this again. I booted up with npci=0x2000 -v and now it locks on "Firewire (OHC) TI ID 8023 PCI now active, GUID #(insert numbers)#; max speed s400." after about 10 minutes it popped up with "USBF: 661.474 IOUSBCompositeDriver...

have to manually repair permissions on every reboot

After 10.7.2 I guess I didn't reboot for quite some time, because now when I do the computer locks on the apple logo during bootup (-v shows that it sticks on PCI configuration). I can get back in if I remove my drive and reset permissions + ownership of the /System/Library/Extensions folder...

    DP55wg ALC889 problem

I just removed AppleHDA and VoodooHDA to try this and the system stopped booting entirely, arg. I can't even boot from rBoot now =/ Just sits on the apple logo. EDIT: attached the hard drive to my laptop and moved the files back. it boots now so I'm making a backup before I go any further...

    DP55wg ALC889 problem

Hi everyone, I've been running a hackintosh with my only problem being that the mic input did not work. I upgraded to Lion and the problem was still there but I ignored it. I was getting along fine with my machine until the 10.7.2 update. After that my audio worked (still no mic), but did...
