Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

4-6% CPU sounds extremely high, even on a single core - especially considering it should be idling for at least 10 seconds (and 25 seconds in this thread's example)

Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

This is a nice daemon, however I wouldn't be too concerned either way. The plist in this thread runs a single copy of bash - the performance impact on a modern (or even 15-year old) machine would be so minimal as to be unnoticed. On my system a cursory look suggested it took around 520Kb RAM and...

Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H & GTX 1050: black screen after sleep

Hi, I had the exact same problem with my other-halve's custo-mac with the same motherboard and an nvidia 1060 card. The systemd definition was an iMac 11,1 and I changed this to a 13,2 and it resolved the issue. Maybe this will work for you too?

Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

By setting the sleep value to zero you are literally calling the say command continuously which I think would have a negative performance impact. It's unlikely to damage your device (but caveat emptor applies here) but I wouldn't recommend it. The pop is usually the sound of the amp powering...

Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

Sure, just edit the original file to change the 'sleep 25' to 'sleep 1' - I won't change the original post as for many people (including my 2 systems) it seems to work on 25, and having a bash script run every second is not very efficient.

No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

No idea what was wrong, I ended up restoring from a time machine backup from a day ago when it was working - fixed the issue with no Clover or config changes... Thanks for your help however!

No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

I have removed the Other/ kexts, rebuilt cache, rebooted and re-uploaded new copies of the requested files. I have also re-run the installation command.

No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

Hello! I have had the Clover injection working for a while. After a reboot (and the latest security patch) I no longer have audio devices showing. I tried installing the Clover Injection patch again and it didn't work (ALC898, ID 1). Then I reinstalled OS X and that didn't work either. OS / PC...

Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

This fix is for Sierra and High Sierra (which should be obvious from the title and the first post). Use antipop for older versions like El Capitan: http://www.tomsick.net/projects/antipop.html

Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

This should work without modification in OS X High Sierra. I have two systems I have finally upgraded this weekend and both work without any changes. I updated the first post with a bit more detail, including how to tune down the timer if it's popping for you still. Update: You may need to...

Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

It's still working fine for me on 2 systems running 10.12.3 Sierra. However, I have two suggestions: 1. Try issuing this command: sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.mattsday.antipop.plist sudo launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.mattsday.antipop.plist This will reload the...

Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

It's still working fine for me on two systems running 12.2 Sierra. The cause is that OS X powers down the amplifier to save energy. When sound is played it powers back up again, causing the popping sound. This is why sound sometimes stops working after sleep (OS X powers down the amp but...

Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

Should work just as well in El Capitan - have you tried it?

Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

Hi all, since upgrading to Sierra I've had the dreaded audio pop problem. Every 30 seconds or so the audio would make a loud pop before playing anything. The fix used to be 'Antipop' but its developer has stopped maintaining it. This small fix here does the same thing but is verified working in...

Updated to Yosemite with Clover. Everything works except iMessage

Same issue for me this morning - running Clover and 10.10 with a customer code issue. Called them with my MacBook Pro serial number and it was fixed in no time - they only asked for it once (via an automated system). YMMV but painless for me, spent 10 mins in the queue waiting for an operator...
