The best thing you can do is install in a ssd for now and when you understand more about the topic clone to nvme.
with the nvme supported, as samsung 950, 960 is easier, but yours that is not supported is more complicated
I have same problem, testing with diferent display port of my 980ti, i got start with two monitors (principal DP Dell U2515H and secondary DP Dell P2414H).
