Clover EFI boot Dell Latitude E6510

I just wanted to say thank you to RehabMan for helping me out years ago with my laptop. It really meant a lot to me that you took the time and it's been on my todo list to come back to say thank you. And also thank you to the tonymacx86 community. I was able to release an app to the Apple store...

Clover EFI boot Dell Latitude E6510

I was using Clover Configurator and somehow Clover's plist got corrupted or massively changed and suddenly it started working. I no longer get stuck on a black screen when selecting Mac. New issue: Mac starts to load, I see a white screen for 3-10 seconds, then I see rainbow screen tears for a...

Clover EFI boot Dell Latitude E6510

I'm afraid I don't know what this means. I think it means to fiddle around with this: http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/Graphics All combinations I've tried haven't yielded anything yet. My instinct says this is somehow "disconnected" from executable components. The machine is...

Best Practice Partition Structure for Booting Windows, Mac, Linux and more without partition limit!

Summarization for those trying to learn: GPT (a partitioning style or structure) has a hidden partition named EFI that is less than 200mb and exists at the top of the drive. I believe it is also referred to as the ESP. It can contain boot files that are contributed by various operating systems...

Clover EFI boot Dell Latitude E6510

I bypassed Disk Utility and had success dual booting: http://www.tonymacx86.com/multi-booting/142388-how-fix-broken-efi-boot-after-adding-mac-partition-2.html#post879212 I now have Clover booting from \EFI\CLOVER\CLOVERX64.efi . It boots Windows just fine. The problem is that when I boot my...

How to fix broken EFI boot after adding a mac partition

Apologies to anyone reading but I never learned how to fix a broken EFI boot after Disk Utility appears to have broken it. I did however figure out how to safely get a Mac partition on my drive without breaking Windows boot. Here's how: Boot UEFI: Windows 7 DVD and install Windows in UEFI mode...

How to fix broken EFI boot after adding a mac partition

Well I'm partly satisfied that the answer is almost conclusive at least. Thank you kindly for all your time and effort. I will continue to chip away at this and I will come back and report if I get it working.

How to fix broken EFI boot after adding a mac partition

Yes! I can definitely boot Windows 7 UEFI and then install Ubuntu UEFI and boot them side by side. I then use my MAC 10.8.0 USB to add an HFS+J partition and then boot of Windows 7 and Ubuntu both break ("no bootable devices"). Here you go: Justins-iMac:~ justinreinhart$ diskutil list...

Clover EFI boot Dell Latitude E6510

I checked and I have no indication I have any Intel graphics. Only NVIDIA. I suppose that is always a possibility. When I install UEFI Windows 7 first to a GPT disk it works though, up until I add an HFS+J partition. This suggests I could get it working. I will be happy to try this. But...

How to fix broken EFI boot after adding a mac partition

(Don't miss my post on previous page. ^_^ ) I formatted the drive to GPT using Ubuntu Live USB once and then installed UEFI Windows 7 DVD to the drive and it worked. This provides further backing that the drive is GPT, and that Windows 7 works if it is installed first. I checked the DVD--it...

How to fix broken EFI boot after adding a mac partition

I am absolutely certain that both have been done this way this entire time. BIOS set to UEFI mode (not legacy) and I've been selecting UEFI: Windows 7 DVD entire time. No deviation at all on this.

Clover EFI boot Dell Latitude E6510

Got this as fast as I could. Turns out I had a CPU-Z doc saved in Evernote. Win. CPU is M520. I believe I have NVIDIA solo. No Intel. I wasn't sure how to ID to motherboard model but I think it is the 0N5KHN. Here is a cut and paste: Chipset...

Clover EFI boot Dell Latitude E6510

Updated as requested with everything I currently have access too. I don't have my motherboard chipset yet and cannot yet boot windows to run CPU-Z. If you need this I will have to format the drive and install windows first so it will boot.

How to fix broken EFI boot after adding a mac partition

I installed Windows 7 via UEFI DVD boot into the second HFS+J partition that was then formatted into NTFS. I get "no bootable devices" trying to load the Windows Boot Manager. So here's what I think it is going on: I think Disk Utility is somehow making an MBR/GPT hybrid no matter what I do. (I...
