Z97 Build - Asus Hero VII 4770K + GTX Titan

Keep in mind that Devil's Canyon won't be at all supported until Apple uses it in their own hardware. And considering we may see a refresh of hardware on Monday (WWDC), using the Haswell refresh, we could out another 6 months or so before Apple decides to incorporate it, and thus have a...

    Intel "Devil's Canyon"

Hey all, Been reading a lot about the Haswell refresh known as "Devil's Canyon" that is right around the corner. Something about a 4GHz processor is really exciting... I'd imagine turboboost might push it to 5Ghz even. Anyway, TomsHardware suggests we should "expect the new Haswell models...

    XFX 6870 2GB version

Alright so I know I won't be the first to purchase this card, but I am certain at this point I will. And I'd like to provide some evidence for future users. Oh random here, but this cart helped me: Mid 2006 - MacPro1,1 Early 2007 - MacPro2,1 Early 2008 - MacPro3,1 Early 2009 - MacPro4,1 Mid...

    FCP help

Hmm, I don't a graphics card listed on there. As your only work will be video editing, I would highly recommend you get a card to go with that. Plus, you could also step up from an i3... Maybe at least an i5 or even an i7 will give you a much better jump in performance.

    XFX 6870 2GB version

Sorry if I'm kinda being random here. Anyway, I found this card looking through a number of topics, and like others, I've read many different comments regarding compatibility. So far I've gathered that 3/5 outputs work. Thats fine for me... 1 DVI monitor, 1 MiniDP monitor, and a TV screen via...

Hackintosh for video and post production

I couldn't tell you for sure if thats gonna work, but I know your graphics card will as its a supported chipset. Your CPU and mobo use a 1366 socket which is a bit "last generation". For the money your gonna spend on a machine like this, maybe consider an i7 Sandy bridge Enthusiast six core...

    Motherboard/Video Card Compatibility

Since that card uses a ATI Radeon HD 4670 chipset, according to the wiki, I'd think it'd work, with these comments: Usually, GraphicsEnabler should be set to "Yes" However, according to Gordo, the 4xxx chipset does NOT work under OSX unless it is a 4870. Yours is a 4670... So no.

Parts check + Mac G5 build components

Thanks for the response Gordo, I actually have referenced your thread a number of times when I put together my list of components there. Anyway, thanks for that advice, but just two more.. Do I need to buy your own hex screws/bolts to attach the case or are those included? And if the mobo...

    Motherboard/Video Card Compatibility

I'm no expert here, nor have I built my own hackintosh (yet) but I do have a hackintosh-ed Dell Mini 10v, so feel free to question my credibility. Anyway, first, that graphics cards you linked to uses a Radeon HD 4670 chipset. Snooping around a number of sources, and the Wiki, I notice that the...

Parts check + Mac G5 build components

Hello all, I had a thread awhile ago where I talked about whether waiting for the x79 chipset versus the Z68. I decided based on the compatibility of currently available chipsets, etc. its probably a safer bet to just go for a Z68 board. Anyway below is everything in my Newegg cart. I complied...
