    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Thanks @CaseySJ! Legend as usual. I'm using a PCI-e Wi-Fi card (Fenvi FV-T919) and from my research so far this evening, it appears this Wi-Fi card is not longer supported, and I need to use an Intel based PCI-e card. However, if I do that, then most continuity features (other than handoff and...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi all, merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all. I'm currently on Ventura and have a very stable build (Sleep, AirDrop, etc., all working well). I need to update to Sonoma as my Safari is now out of date, however I wanted to ask, are all things working in Sonoma natively as expected...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi all Is it worth upgrading to Sonoma from a very stable Ventura build? I mean in terms of stability (not in terms of new features that Sonoma has). Thank you

Hi @CaseySJ A few pages ago I posted about how my Mac wouldn’t wake from sleep sometimes (I have 2x 4K monitors connected via dosplsyport) I’ve actually realised the issue doesn’t happen when waking from sleep. This use case happens when my mac is sleeping peacefully, however if I get a phone...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Thanks but I’m already using DisplayPort. The same displayport cables that I’ve been using a while. Do you think it’s worth replacing the cables and seeing if the problem persists?

Hi @CaseySJ I hope you're well. I'm on 13.3.1 and have spotted this weird issue over the last few days. I'm using dual monitors, and for some reason, either when the Mac is asleep, or it turns off the displays to save energy (but isn't yet asleep), sometimes when I move the mouse/press a key on...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ I've got sleep working perfectly. The command was actually sudo pmset -a tcpkeepalive 0 - I've had no wakes thankfully and the Mac sleeps perfectly! Thank you for all your help!

Hey @CaseySJ - having a slight problem with Sleep. The Mac goes to sleep fine (either by itself or doing it manually via tapping Sleep on the Apple menu in the top left corner), however, it keeps waking every 10/15mins or so with this as the wake reason: 2023-04-24 13:53:54 +0100 Wake Requests...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Casey, my bad, I took the name of your EFI folder and kept it the same (i.e. OpenCore 0.9.1 EFI for Z390 Designare). I renamed the EFI folder to 'EFI' and it booted perfectly. So far, this has been the easiest Hackintosh I haven't built, and I'm a 10+ year veteran! Everything worked after the...

Yup I think so. Please see attachment - this is the contents of the EFI partition of the USB

Hi Casey. I followed the steps in 1 and 2 above (plus 3 and 4 to tweak the EFI and copy it to the USB install disk), however when I press F12, it finds the USB (UEFI: Sandisk, partition 1), but it won’t boot from it. It just blinks for a second then restarts the pc.

Hi Casey. Thanks, but what about the rest of the steps? E.G where do I get the EFI for the Z390 from, as those steps mentioned in the above link are for the Asus Z690? Thanks

Hi. Can someone please direct me to the post on this thread where it has instructions on what to do for a fresh install of Ventura? I may be bit a bit slow, as I can't seem to locate it. Thanks!

Sorry Casey, I'm actually using Catalina (I know! my bad for not upgrading sooner!), so I think I'll follow step 1 and 2 in the thread you have posted. Once I have done that, is there another post I should follow for any specific things for the Z390 board? Thanks!
