Thanks blueking :headbang: ...followed your guide. All went well on the install. Got to the reboot and got the dreaded boot0 (zero) error. :? Searched on the forum and saw all kinds of ways to use terminal to change the boot1h file and other methods.....but kept seeing it was an EFI...

I went with the Sandy Bridge i7 2600k and a Gigabyte Z68x-ud7 board. I'm too new to be groundbreaking. Hope someone has luck but I went with a more proven route. Sorry.

I want to encode video but I am confused by the whole Z68 supposedly integrating the on-die video component in the i7 2600k chip and then say Gigabyte z68-ud7 needing the discrete graphics card. It does not say it has the virtu in the specs of that board but is it Virtu that is needed to make...

OK Noob to the whole Intel processors...been Apple so far...but is this one better than the i7-2600k processor? From what I've found (below links) seems the 2600k is still faster. The Xeon does have better Multimedia Instruction sets. I plan on making a Hackintosh rig for video...

I was thinking somewhat the same idea, I know everybody is suppose to put their build in their tag or signature but if everyone had an actual build page where you could also post your geekbench, cinebench and novabench scores people could see what is really working for others.
