This is an eminently practical bit of advice. Thank you. That's exactly what I intend to do. I waited until Big Sur 11.6 before I moved on from Catalina because Big Sur required a new Radeon video card. There's nothing that's essential in Sonoma so I can afford to wait. :clap:
Late to the party because I was on a trip, but macOS 13.6 is good here. I will not be upgrading to Sonoma until the OCLP process is refined to the point that it is easily and reliably accomplished without appearing to be voodoo. Which possibly means that Ventura may be it for me...
Are you saying that the OCLP WiFi patch survives Sonoma updates? That would make life much easier for me as I am completely dependent upon WiFi for my Internet connection. I wouldn't mind the full 12GB download if that were true. Also, will the OCLP patch process be very clear and user friendly?
I was hoping for macOS 13.6, as the release candidate was posted last week, but I'll take it. This time the update was very fast, well under fifteen minutes.
It's a USB IBM keyboard that also confirms that my USB is active. I use it for serious writing because I like the tactile feedback, its numeric keypad, and because I am a lot more accurate with it. :-)
I do like the braided blue SATA cable! And, like you, I love my PowerMac G5 case sitting next to my desk. :p It's been ten years now since I built my first G5s, and all three are still running. I do hope that a workaround for WiFi/BT is found, or Ventura could be it for me. :(
