Looks good to me. I've installed the hackintosh on Gigabyte and ASUS motherboards so far and I've had an easier time with the ASUS boards. I have no experience with MiniITX boards, though.
Thanks! The 270M mATX board would be better than the gaming one for my next build (wife's computer) since I dont need wifi or bluetooth. If I'm not planning on ever over clocking, would it be worth going with the H270 mATX model instead? or is the bios (or other stuff) different enough to make...
Stork - do you know if ASUS stopped making Gene mobos? I did not see any in the buyer's guide list for i7-7700K CPUs. The only mATX ASUS mobos now look to be the Strix.
I followed this thread from the start, keeping the GPU as the last thing I buy for my hackintosh build. I was hoping the drivers would be released. I finally gave up and picked up a used gtx 980 for $200.
Just wanted to thank Stork for his guide. So far I've built my hackintosh and helped my friend build a hackintosh with Asus VIII Hero mobos. Used this guide both times.
I put a gtx 980 in mine last night. Do i need to go and disable the HD530 changes to Clover config file? I havent and...
Everything is good except waking from sleep. I have the CodecCommander kext installed; darkwake=0 and ran the command to turn off the 'sleep after 4 hours' setting.
I turned off sleep in Energy Saver (screen turns off after 15 minutes). If i manually put it to sleep, it will wake up fine after a...
Got Sierra to install and boot off internal EFI! The changes i made were: 1) the BIOS DVMT change from 32 to 64 and, 2) put the USB drive in the "serial port" row. I just realized I used the usb port thats in between the bottom usb and the serial but it seemed to have worked okay.
I had the 530 selected and installed from MultiBeast.
I wiped the drive and started over and got the same results.
I wiped the drive again and installed El Capitan without a problem (except funky graphic effects, but at least it would load from the EFI on the hard drive).
I followed the guide and installed Sierra. I can boot using the USB EFI fine but when I try to boot from the EFI on the hard drive the boot fails and restarts. Here's a picture
Stork-
I found what I was looking for in your signature block (the El Capitan link). :)
I was just sticking with El Capitan since it seemed friendlier with the HD530 onboard graphics. I plan on getting a gtx 970 or better so maybe i'll try out Sierra.
