@jaymonkey Regarding the custom cards, my statement was mostly about controlling fan speed, as they also have the fans controlled by the on board BIOS, while stock cards have their cooling controlled by the OS, so the custom cards may be susceptible to partly or completely ignore the fan curve...
@mafx3 my guess would be that Apple may be clocking the GPU up and down very fast to avoid any kind of lag when stuff is moving on the screen. I'm pretty sure they do the same thing on iOS.
Just wanted to report in that I have been running the same profile with lower idle fan speed (900 RPM), undervolting and OC (About 50W undervolting) since december when I got my card, and have been having no problems. :)
EDIT: @jaymonkey not sure if you already put it in the guide, but some of...
I am pretty sure that Lilu and plugins won't work in /L/E og /S/L/E also why would you install them there instead of injecting them from the EFI partition, which is way easier?
Maybe.
When I idle in macOS 10.14.2 it shows a powerdraw of about 12W, in Windows it shows 4-6W.
When running the same Luxmark benchmark, it shows 558W in macOS and 244W in Windows.
If they are doubled that would mean that macOS draws about 10% more power for the same OpenCL task when...
Yeah I don't think (or hope) that it is accurate, these are my values while running luxmark.
As the card has a TDP of 350W I don't think it will draw that amount of power.
I also got a value of 0 when setting PP_DisablePowerContainment to 1.
I can however report that my card goes back to 700...
I think that PP_DisablePowerContainment increases the amount of power that the card is allowed to draw, that is at least how I read: https://egpu.io/forums/mac-setup/enable-baffin-cus-sh-script/
@jaymonkey Thanks, I did try only setting PP_PhmSoftPowerPlayTable which I would think should then keep everything else stock, sleep did not work with that either.
I have attached a screenshot of the default PP_* from IOReg.
Also the values from your post does not seem to match what is...
Using this fix seems to make my system unable to sleep, everything turns off correctly except that the power LED no longer turns off and the system is unable to wake again.
As soon as I remove the lines added as part of the fix, sleep works correctly again.
Anyone have any ideas?
Yeah that is also why it's so puzzling to me, everything seems to be correct.
I also had the same problem with FakeSMC.kext + SMCHelper.efi
I'm pretty sure the problem has existed all the way through High Sierra, so I may just have to give up and run with 0x67 instead.
Also I have no idea...
Hi
I have been battling this bug for a very very long time now and would like to know if anyone have any ideas on what I can try to fix it.
First of all, I'm using USBInjectAll with an SSDT to inject only the ports I use (15<), I have attached a copy of my SSDT in case there is anything in...
Hi
I have been having this problem for a long time now, where disabling SIP would disable all my USB ports. As in none of them are found by macOS.
After testing each of the SIP flags I have concluded that disabling ALLOW_UNRESTRICTED_FS (0x02) is the cause of this issue.
The problem exists...
