I tried to disconnect one of the antennas, and that seems to have worked (for now).
Originally I only used two antennas, but last time I had trouble getting wi-fi to work I attached two additional antennas and it started working again. Now I had to remove one of the two I had originally...
I have a strange issue with the wi-fi (BCM94360CD and a mini-PCI-E adapter both bought on eBay) on my machine (built around a Gigabyte GA-Z97N Gaming 5 motherboard) that I’ve basically had since I set it up (built in 2014). From time to time, when I turn on the machine, the wi-fi doesn’t work...
What settings are you guys using in your config.plist (assuming you're using Clover)? E.g., wrt. darkwake (I tried darkwake=10, and the computer would not wake up after longer periods of sleep, even with the new BIOS update).
I wrote Gigabyte yesterday asking if they would release a similar "memory compatibility fix" BIOS update for the Z97N-Gaming 5, and today I received a rather short answer, but with attached BIOS update (F6a). I'll try it out and see how it works.
I certainly hope there'll be an update for the Z97N-Gaming 5 too, but unfortunately the updates for this board always seem to be lagging a bit behind the "normal" boards :(
Please get back to us whether the BIOS update solved the problem or not!
It's nice that you found a solution. Just a shame that it looks like Gigabyte motherboards are useless if you want you hackintosh to sleep.
I don't think I'm ready (yet) to buy another motherboard. Maybe if it's possible to sell the old one. It's really a feature I'd like to have working.
I didn't do anything to get it to work really.
You need to attach antennas. Did you do that? I bought some internal ones, they never worked. So I used the ASUS antenna that came with the board instead... Remember to attach it to the right pins on the BT/wifi card.
I actually just upgraded to El Capitan yesterday.
Here's what I did:
- Update Clover to latest version.
- Using the latest version of Clover Configurator, set rootless=0 (under Boot). This disables the System Integrity Protection (SIP) system, so remember to remove the boot flag once...
