I had exactly the same issue. I resolved it in opencore config.plist by setting Misc -> Security -> SecureBootModel (your SMBIOS model code.. i am using iMacPro1,1 which is j137) The list of the various codes are here under the "SecureBootModel"...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi @CaseySJ I just want to let you know that the AVID HD Native Thunderbolt works perfectly on the Designare with Mojave 10.14.6 (18G3020). I am using the Startech TB3 to TB2 adapter. I have even tried daisy chaining it to the end of an Apollo 16mk2 (with Satellite) and both the Apollo and Avid...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I don’t use FCPX as I predominantly do audio, but I do like to play CS:GO and can confirm that I get a stable ~160fps at 2560x1080 @ 144hz, silky smooth! So no need for that windows 10 drive anymore! Haha I am sure that performance in FCPX will be stellar though!

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ I just bought one of these motherboards and followed this setup guide (Method 1), I followed @pastrychef's guide on RX VEGA Fans & Voltage and I am so happy! Great well written guides and easy to follow! I discovered that i could only install Mojave straight to my 970 Pro if it was...

Awesome! You are welcome! Check the settings in HW Monitor as the others may not be selected, click on the eye to make them appear - See attached picture That software is called "VideoProc" The free version can show you IGPU info, just click on "Setting" then "Option" Regarding boot, I will try...

    i9-9900k - Asus Prime z390-a, Rx580 8gb, Mojave 10.14.2 - a Desperate’s Man diary!

Awesome to hear about the stability! Did you inspect and re-seat your ram modules? it is possible that the connection might not be in 100% or there is some debris in the socket? stranger things have happened :) I tried to get the IGPU up and running but haven't had enough time to read and...

    SSDT-USB.aml Z97A

Hi @Vinceletah Here are 2 SSDT's to place in /EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched SSDT-UIAC - For the ports (If you have bluetooth card, plug it's cable into the internal header "USB910") SSDT-XOSI - To Emulate a version of Windows USBInjectAll.kext - Must be installed to /Library/Extensions There is also...

    i9-9900k - Asus Prime z390-a, Rx580 8gb, Mojave 10.14.2 - a Desperate’s Man diary!

Hi pli, I am glad it was a good starting point for you! I can see that you have already implemented Emulated NVRAM (EmuVariableUefi-64.efi) It means Non Volatile Random Access Memory, it stores information like OS parameters, volume, brightness (laptops) amongst many other things for the next...

    i9-9900k - Asus Prime z390-a, Rx580 8gb, Mojave 10.14.2 - a Desperate’s Man diary!

@skroutz999 Great! I am so happy that it’s all going in the right direction! Yes, making your own USB SSDT to suit your purpose is a good idea :) The quick look / jpeg issue was easily fixed for me with NoVPAJpeg.kext installed into /Library/Extensions (must have lilu.kext installed, which we...

    i9-9900k - Asus Prime z390-a, Rx580 8gb, Mojave 10.14.2 - a Desperate’s Man diary!

You are welcome! With the Asus AI overclock activated in the bios it seems that xmp becomes auto. I just tested the XMP Detect setting in clover, with either yes or no I still get 3200MHz. So i am led to believe that XMP is controlled by the AI OC. One thing to note is that before i started...

    i9-9900k - Asus Prime z390-a, Rx580 8gb, Mojave 10.14.2 - a Desperate’s Man diary!

@pastrychef Yes, I agree 100% that the Kepler’s days are drawing very close to the end. For my use case, the plan with this build is to stay on Mojave for ~3yrs to stay inline/compatible with AVID Pro Tools. I already have a Kepler card lying around from a previous build and might as well use...

You are welcome! I didn’t have any freezes at all. I am running a 970 Evo NVMe in the M.2_2 slot (the one with the heat sink), 850 Evo for Windows (M.2_1 slot in sata mode) and an 800gb intel 750 nvme for storage in the pcie x16_2 slot. RAM is Corsair pro RGB 4x8 3200MHz. Graphics card is a...

    i9-9900k - Asus Prime z390-a, Rx580 8gb, Mojave 10.14.2 - a Desperate’s Man diary!

Hi there, I have the same motherboard + cpu and have managed to get everything working really great! Sleep/Wake and respectable boot times on apfs etc. I followed rehabman's guides on creating SSDT for USBInjectAll (read very carefully the part about injecting in groups with -uia_exclude flag)...
