not sure if this is the firmware problem. try running this command in the terminal ioreg -l -p IODeviceTree | grep firmware-abi if you get : | | "firmware-abi" = <"EFI64"> then your machine should be ok for 64 bit. If not, then ... it must be something else

dude, have you try iBoot-Legacy instead of iBoot? try with -x -v options during boot and see what is holding up the booting process.
