So I finally went ahead and made a handoff capable Bluetooth + Wifi card as described in one of the sticky guides. Problem solved. The network connects, and boy how it connects. Just love it.
As I expected, the problem lay with the TP-link card. It needs a kext mod or something.

Yeah, it probably just needs kexts, and probably isn't OOTB compatible with Clover Yosemite, at least. I'll try to get the apple adapter + pci-e adapter, and see if that works. The refund window on this thing is running out fast for me, so something has to work asap.
