I tried the EFI.zip file on my system, and was able to get the system to boot and install OS X properly on my system. My specs are identical to yours, except, my video card is a Radeon RX560 card from MSI. When I try using that card, I get ghosting with a progress bar half-way filled, and...
Unfortunately, I had to reinstall my OS, as it kept saying "This system cannot be upgraded, an error has occurred." After reinstall, the upgrade works fine. It's odd, but that's what I had to do. :-/
So far, 100% working out of the box. Best build ever! Thanks for taking the time to perfect this build. I built with a Z370-F series motherboard, not G. Either way, all of the devices work along with the EFI copy-over. I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised - couple of reboots, and...
Not sure, honestly. The Bluetooth device may not have drivers for it. Look at the Z370-G build and see if that works. I'm building a system with a Z370-F Gaming board, and I may run into similar issues.
I'll keep you posted.
Well, given the compatibility factors as of late, I'm good getting either an Asus Gene board, or a Gigabyte series board, as they seem to be best supported. I'll try my luck with an X299 board, or something similar, and see how my luck plays out.
Well, they do have an iMac Pro with 18 cores coming out, which would imply that the Skylake-X CPUs are going to work with High Sierra. One of the main reasons I want to build a box is so I can have a development box to use during the day, and a gaming system to use in the evening.
Dual GTX...
Hi all!
I have built a desktop that is about 95% of the way stable, but plan on donating that to my little brother so he can have a gaming PC and a college PC. I will be replacing it with a system that I plan on building with 6 or 8 cores (multithread) for development and gaming purposes...
Okay, I've followed this guide to the letter (the first part) and when I replaced the config_UHD.plist with config.plist, and followed the rest of the guide, my system reboots with no hard drives shown in the list. For the reference, please don't just say "Restart and follow the guide." I've...
Forgive my arrogance, I actually figured out the issue. It turns out, one of the previous builds said to put the FakeSMC.kext and Ethernet.kext files in the EFI/kexts/10.11 directory. Once I did that, the drive booted right up. I'm now able to upgrade my system, believe it or not. This is...
I have the EXACT same set up, and have tried your guide.
First, you have to include "nv_disable=1 npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1" in your boot options. I have *NO IDEA* how you were able to boot without it. Every single one of these motherboards requires it.
Second, when I try booting, it just...
