thanks for your contribution btw. i quit using mac os on the laptop a couple months ago due to the need of windows
but again i wil dive into the big sur stuff once everything settles and kexts get updates
also side question. the default patches clover puts in place. could that hinder some of windows performance or are those patches only tried to be applied when booting from a mac volume? this machine wil not be used to boot mac os. atleast not for a long time
hello good day.
i got a clover bootloader usb drive here that i use to "emulate" and boot nvme drives on a legacy system from 2011.
so far this has worked perfectly apart from one thing.
it takes a long time to list all the volumes. and it does not auto boot the last selected volume (in this...
hello. i've been redoing the wiring inside a powermac g5 case that was converted to a server motherboard.
the power button works and the power led turns on. but the problem is the power led is always on.(the led didnt work when i got the device but alot of stuff was knocked lose inside)
this...
currently working on that. i have mostly fixed that problem. apart from some small issues.
hdmi does not go past 60 hz (black screen) it does show 144hz, i think the hd4600 is not patched 100% yet
enabling usb 3 seems to break the bluetooth and webcam connection to the os (not sure yet i am...
Intel HD 4600 bug fixing is being worked on. i got a working config but the config includes alot of uneeded patches ect wich wil make it unwise to use as a main.
please keep an eye on this thread as a new fixed and optimized efi folder wil be posted
hello again. a second guide for this lovely laptop.
to get mojave running on this machine. it is pretty easy.
this install is 100% vanilla.
and since everyone's definition of "vanilla" is different.
this install does only require the bootloader to boot and install and work.
this guide may or...
no ccc does not. i moved my laptops hackintosh to new drives using carbon copy cloner alot. i always reinstalled clover and copied the efi folder over and it was golden again
edit more testing. booting the laptop outside of the dock and plugging it in the dock while booted works.
ethernet kicks in and usb.
unplugging the laptop from the dock also works. so the issue seems to be caused by having the laptop in the dock during the boot process..
so i bought myself a cheap second hand dock to use for my laptop running mojave.
the dock model is dell PR02X.
if i put the laptop in the dock and boot it works fine. putting a dvi display in port 1 does not output a display and if i plug it into port 2 the laptop screen goes black after boot...
for the people coming here googling this issue and having a hard time finding a solution.
EVEN if your bootloader is UEFI only. keep legacy boot enabled. disabling this may cause graphical issues for intel hd enabled devices. your bootloader wil stil load in UEFI mode. (make sure that your boot...
ok so i decided to disable usb 3.0 and legacy boot options aswel and it managed to boot again.
altho i seem to get this graphics issue all of a sudden. i remember having this kinda issue before on this laptop but its been a while and completely clueless to what could possibly cause this
so today i tried to replace the fan on my system since it got bad bearings but the new fan didnt work so i put my old fan back in but broke the fan tachometer cable (yellow wire) so the laptop thinks that the fan doesnt run. not a issue it stil runs altho at 100% fan speed.during the process i...
