Hey guys. I've been hackintoshing for a while now, and I can generally get everything pretty well figured out on my own with the help of this forum and a couple others. This time I'm really stuck though. I have a Thinkpad W520 with a core i7 2670qm, 24gb of ram, and the quadro k1000m. I removed the whitelist from the bios and installed an atheros 9285 for wifi. Everything is working great on this laptop except for speedstepping.

I've placed a patch aicpupm in my extensions folder, rebuilt my cache, and placed a DSDT and SSDT in my extra folder. I've also made sure that AppleLPC is loading correctly. With all of these things in place the computer will boot just fine, but will kernel panic after a couple of minutes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've uploaded my ssdt, my dsdt, and a picture of the kernel panic that I'm receiving.

Thanks.

You probably need DSDT patches. Likely candidates from here: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
"HPET Fix"
"SMBUS Fix"
"IRQ Fix"
"RTC Fix"
"OS Check Fix"
"Fix Mutex with non-zero SyncLevel"

I applied all the patches that you mentioned after I restored my dmg. I'm doing a permissions and cache rebuild and I'll reboot. I'm about to find out if it worked. Thanks for the help! Wish me luck.

You don't necessarily need all of them. The idea would be to try them one at a time... But doing all at once is an interesting test as well.

Oh, oops. Haha. I tried all of them. Upon reboot I got the exact same kernel panic with a backtrace to aicpupm.kext. I'm using the patched one from multibeast. Is there a different one that I should be using? Or should that one work okay? I also tried changing my smbios from macbook pro 8.1 to macbook pro 8.2 and I still got the same results. Thanks for your time.

Post DSDT with the patches applied. Post ioreg if you can (eg. add NullCPU): http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html

Here is my DSDT. I'm working on getting the IOreg. This may be a dumb question, but how do I get my hackintosh partition to boot after receiving this kernel panic? I have macdrive in windows so I can manipulate files. Do I just copy nullcpu back into the extensions folder and then reboot?

You can probably boot using the Unibeast USB. Or, install NullCPU in /S/L/E (with Terminal) and boot "-f"...

Here is my DSDT. ...

OSYS patch ("OS Check Fix") did not work (it needed a slight tweak... thought you would notice...)

I've updated the OSYS patch to handle your DSDT as well...

Not sure it will help, but worth a try...

Ioreg will help me verify you actually installed the patched DSDT correctly...

I didn't notice that one. Sorry about that. I did fix a couple of other things that came up. I feel stupid for asking about the nullcpu thing. I just copied it back over from my windows partition and it booted fine. I think I've got the IOreg you need.
