Hi,

I've been desperately trying to get hackintosh running on my new rig but I'm unable to get to the installation screen

i7 3930k
GIGABYTE X79-UD3
GTX 780

HDDs are set to AHCI mode.

Various boot parameters I tried:

-v -x PCIRootUID=1:
it keeps on telling me "waiting for root device"

-v -x npci=x3000
BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist

-v -x npci=x3000 GraphicsEnabler=no
BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist

and then it just says "Kext loading now disabled. Kext unloading now disabled. ... Syncing disks" and then shuts down.
I followed the 10.9 tutorial step by step but I just cannot get it to work.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

I got the same troble. My specs Gigabyte GA-Z87N-Wifi, 3.5 Ghz i7 4770K, 16 Gb RAM and no Display Card

Your not alone my Asus X750J is not really getting pass the Bootcache either

did you ever get the GA-Z87N install to work and get past the /bootCache.playlist error.

I have about the same set up..

GA-Z87N-wifi
EVGA
GeForce GTX 760
i5-4670 3.40Ghz

and I get the same hang every time!! Can Anyone help?

Got the same issue.
GA-ze7n-wifi
i5 4670k
intel graphic

Any update on a fix.

I successfully took 2 steps backward and used unibeast 2.1 and mountain lion 10.8.5 on the bootstrap to get OS X Install to come up, without any flags.

why did we choose this method? because my buddy who is coaching me used it 6 months ago on his z77 board, I have an z87. We had problems getting mavericks to work with unibeast 3 then we tried mavericks and clover, no luck. kept getting the same message Unable to open /var/db/bootcache.playlist. I think trying any mountain lion and unibeast 3 would of worked just as well, using suggested settings for your motherboard.

thought to reply because I had the same problem.

Ok thought to give some observations

I'll mention that some of the script in verbose -v may not mean much. for example "
Unable to open /var/db/bootcache.playlist" I've seen it display and not stop the boot in process.
