Hi,
I was thinking of building a Hackintosh, but before I begin I still have some questions about the motherboard.
1. I intended to use my old Mac Pro´s case, as the design is just amazing. Will I get problems when replacing the motherboard by the one in the buyers guide (the first in the CustoMac mATX), or will this be simple as the original motherboard is also mATX?
2. Is it possible to replace the front USB panel of the case, so I can use USB 3?

Greetings,

Asder0815 welcome to the forum. Before starting your Mac Pro project, I suggest that you read some threads as there are some that should be required reading on the subject.

The all time favorite of mine is Aqua-Mac, see: http://aqua-mac.com/

And here on the forum, read mooner's thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mac-pro-m...kpro-gigabyte-z68mx-ud2h-b3-mac-pro-case.html

Just about anything is possible when converting a Mac Pro.

Good modding,

Thanks for your answer. I read through some threads (btw your mods are also very impressive). At some poitn, I came across the Front- and Back-Panel replacements of The Laser Hive. Does anyone know, if they are usefull, as it sounds very nice as I want to keep all things very simple, with a minimum amount of cutting into the case.

Yes the Laser Hive conversion parts and kits are a great way to go. If you do not see what you want on their web site, send them an email query.
