As of now 12,1 is the latest 13" MBP, which I intend to buy fully spec'd (model info from Mactracker).


How can I install Mountain Lion on it without resorting to ESXi?

Simply get hold of an older macbook / macmini / macpro that CAN insall ML..
install ML on that..
image the HD across to the new macbook and see if it works.
i'm running ML on a brand new Macbook Pro 9,2 with no issues

Problem is to find a new MBP with the specs I need (max cpu, mem, sdd, or at least memory, which you cannot then service yourself).

Otherwise, any advice?
