Hi,

i'be been trying to install OS X Mavericks on my HP laptop but encountered this issue where once i boot from the unibeast usb and select the 'Install OS X' partition the laptop goes to the apple logo (without the spinning wheel) and just freezes, even the activity indicator on the usb stops flashing, i've left the laptop on that screen for 20 mins and it still didn't go anywhere.

The laptop specs are:
HP Pavilion M6-1009tx
i7-3612QM 2.10GHZ
Samsung Evo 500GB SSD
8GB Ram
the rest doesn't matter...

i've attached screenshots of the verbose output and the apple logo.

You are getting Local APIC panic. You need to use cpus=1 as a work around until you can install the KernelPatcher module from Chameleon.

Please provide complete details in your profile.

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx). For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Ok, thanks for that. Ill try cpus=1 and let you know how it goes. BTW i've seen many of these forums and seems like your the go-to-guy for these kinda issues, so kkep up the good work man!

The missing info is:
Laptop model: HP Pavilion M6-1009tx
MB: HP 18A5
CPU: 3rd gen i7-3612QM 2.10GHZ Ivy Bridge
Chipset: HM77 Express Chipset
GPU's: Intel HD 4000 and
AMD Rad HD 7650M
Res:
1366x768

OMG, Duh! Sorry about that, thought you were referring to something else. Alright i've updated the details.

Also, i tried cpus=1 and the verbose output changed, looks like it went further than before, but it once again got stuck, this time on "Still Waiting for Root Device", i tried it with many different variations (Graphicsenabler=no/yes, -x, -f) but got the same result.

heres the pic...

Your profile still does not contain your screen resolution. Read post #2 carefully.

It's under 'other hardware'!

It must be in your profile as requested in post #2, such that it appears on every post. Read post #2 carefully.
