Hi

I would really like to get my graphics card working with my os x partition that other wise functions very well. I have an hp envy 14 2002ea laptop with the ATI radeon 6630M graphics card. At the moment In mountain lion only the built in intel graphics in the i7 cpu is being used. The graphics card is being recognized in the device info but not being used at all. By searching around it seems to be the fact that my graphics card is muxless is the problem. Is this true?

The older mac minis that run Lion use the same ATI 6630M graphics card. Would switching to Lion rather than Mountain Lion let me take advantage of my graphics card while running os x in my laptop?

Any help would be really appreciated

Thanks

The problem is that Apple's "switching graphics" use different technology than typical PCs "switching graphics" and the mechanism as far as drivers/development is evidently not documented and to my knowledge no one has reverse engineered it yet, thus no way to get it to work.

Thanks for clearing that up RehabMan. Disappointing news but just the kind of answer i was looking for.

Just one other query. My battery life is very poor could this be due to my graphics card still being powered? Ifso would i be able to disable it at boot somehow?

Check in BIOS.
