NVIDIA has just released their first alternate graphics drivers for OS X El Capitan 10.11. These are separate from the drivers Apple ships as standard, and should be considered experimental. These drivers have been known to solve OpenCL issues with certain applications, as well as providing better native GPU power management for certain devices.

NOTE: These drivers are currently the only method to get full acceleration for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750, 750 Ti, 950, 960, 970, 980, 980 Ti, and TITAN X 'Maxwell' graphics cards. There are no current Macs with these cards, so support is absent natively in OS X.

If you've installed the drivers before, you may get a notification to update to the new drivers from the built in System Preferences pane.

How to Install the Web Drivers:
In order to use the alternate drivers on a CustoMac, you must first install the driver package. Also make sure to choose NVIDIA Web Driver using the standard menubar or system preference pane then reboot.

Please note that these drivers should be considered experimental. If you aren't having any issues, do not install- the native OS X drivers work great for most people.

I am running the gm seed of el cap and using the previous nvidia webdrivers. It says that there is no updates, and when I try to install the drivers it says my OS X version is not compatible:-/

I noticed that the build number for the MAS version of el cap released yesterday is a bit higher than the gm seed...
So how do I install the newer nvidia drivers...?

I have successfully installed El Capitan on my system but If I try to use the Nvidia Web Driver I got a no signal (black screen) :(. Help Please!!

after installing this new driver all my audio is disappeared. I have Audio Realtek ALC888b (with Clover).
why?

I have a GTX 770 4GB. Will I be able to get full acceleration without the web drivers in 10.11?

Go to Clover configurator and change your symbios.

According to Nvidia site:
Release Notes Archive:
This driver update is for Mac Pro 5,1 (2010), Mac Pro 4,1 (2009) and Mac Pro 3,1 (2008) users.

BETA support is for iMac 14,2 / 14,3 (2013), iMac 13,1 / 13,2 (2012) and MacBook Pro 11,3 (2013), MacBook Pro 10,1 (2012), and MacBook Pro 9,1 (2012) users.

Mac Pro 5,1 gave my system kernal panics. Mac Pro 3,1 the way to go for me. My system, Gigabyte Z97 UD5HBK GTX970.

Hope this helps.

This first official release, has way worse performance than latest in Yosemite.. I hope that Nvidia will get to Yosemite performance in next release ..

These drivers also mean you can enable 3D Acceleration in VMware Fusion 8 Virtual Machines. Before, VMware Fusion 8 used to crash when 3D Acceleration was enabled.
