I am running Premiere Pro CC (2015.0.1) and Media Encoder and cannot enable CUDA. It's not even listed as an option under the rendering engine drop down menu. Open CL is causing massive glitches in renders, and some have said that switching to CUDA solves the problem. Using just the "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only" is not an option, because I am a video professional and need the extra speed from GPU acceleration.

What's a workaround for enabling CUDA? The old solutions don't seem to be working, especially since the "supported cards" .txt no longer exists to be edited. Another weird thing: my video card is not listed by name under system information, but rather "NVIDIA Chip Model 4096 MB."

My build is brand new, stuck closely to the August buyer's guide. Everything else seems to be working well.

Processor: Intel Core i7, 4.4 GHz
Memory: 32 GB
Gigabyte Z97X-UD7 TH Mobo
Nvidia GeForce GT 740 (SuperClocked)

Thanks for any help!

If you are booting with GraphicsEnabler=Yes change it to No. Also install the Nvidia Web Drivers and then add the boot flag nvda_drv=1.

Thanks! I got things up and running. For some reason the first time through, my Boot list .txt got destroyed. After I installed the alternate web driver, I ran MultiBeast again, and the CUDA driver worked.

Link to the alternate Nvidia driver for 10.10.5: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/89538/en-us

For others having this same problem, I also found that turning off my internal CPU graphics allowed me to use Open CL and render without issues. I have yet to compare whether Open CL or CUDA is faster, but I'd rather use CUDA because it is tailored exactly to Nvidia cards. With internal CPU graphics off, however, my ability to AirPlay disappeared.

I should also note that I have now tested CUDA. My results are as follows, using the same file to export:

Software only ~9 minutes
Open CL ~4.5 minutes
CUDA ~3.5 minutes

A big advantage!
