Buying Advice HP Probook 450 Ivy Bridge or Haswell

OK, my HP 450 g1 has arrived, now I'm going to proceed with the osx installation. I'm going to try on an external HDD first to make sure everything works without loosing my warranty. I'll probably need help later. If all goes well I'll write a guide.

Does your warranty require the HDD to be returned with the bits unmodified? I always return computers with the HDDs wiped out completely (using secure erase).

It is best to install to an internal SATA device. You can try external, but there will likely be problems... If you can, just remove the OEM drive and replace it with an extra you have.

It's not actually warranty, it's the 10 days return policy that requires the pc to be basically untouched.
Anyways, I managed to install OSX with your modified kernel (all paches) and I'm now trying to boot from the USB disk where I installed OSX (also with pached kernel). So far I get stuck at the apple logo with the spinning wheel under

PS. I noticed that the Bios Didn't have an option to disable the AMD graphic card, but I could turn of "Hybrid Graphics" is it the same?

Boot "-v" to diagnose.

When you get a chance, you should collect an audio codec dump from Linux (google 'patch AppleHDA guide'). And also a PCI inventory 'lspci -nn' in Linux Terminal.

Same.

Should I try using the probook installer like if I had a 450 G0?

No. 450 G0 is Ivy. Perhaps lots of other differences.

Need more information on your laptop. We don't yet know what is inside it.

Collect the following from Linux:
- audio codec dump
- PCI inventory via 'lspci -nn'
- all ACPI tables from /sys/firmware/acpi/tables

OK, I'll create a Linux USB drive and tell you

PS. the trak pad isn't working, I'm using a USB mouse
